I gave this recipe four stars because I added garlic and onion powder, salt, pepper, paprika and 8 oz of cream cheese to the roux.
This made it tasty, and I didn't need to add salt to the layers, just pepper for added flavor. I didn't add Swiss cheese.
I would suggest that you add the creamy sauce between layers for added flavor.
