Good recipe- These didn't have as much flavor I was expecting, but they were still good. Thanks!

This is a great recipe for fresh green beans. I added onion and a few new potatoes - otherwise, used the recipe as it is written. We totally enjoyed it the next day too with some added "off the cob" corn!

This was definitely a wonderful concoction! I was looking for something different, and my kids and nieces loved it! I added a little red onion and a dash of garlic salt, just on a whim: there were no leftovers!

It was pretty good, but not something I would want all the time. It went well with honey roasted potatoes and steak with balsamic glaze. I used less bacon than the recipe stated, and it was still too much! Next time I will add just a touch of bacon and brown sugar...enough to taste it, but not too much to overwhelm the green bean flavor.

I have been using this recipe for years and it has always been a huge hit at every family gathering. It is a staple at our holiday meals. The only change I make is to rough chop a small onion and add this to the almost cooked bacon. I usually dice 2-3 slices of bacon and saute it first. When the bacon is almost done, I add the onion and cook until soft and translucent. I then add all the rest of the ingredients, cover, reduce the heat and simmer until the beans are done. Always very, very good!

My Fiancee is the pickiest eater ever who would not touch green veggies and he ate these no problem. I loved them too.

I made these for a Christmas Party last year & got compliments all night! This was Easy & Good! I even had to make them in a Wok because I was in a bind, & it came out just fine :) I also used frozen Green beans, you would have never known they weren't fresh!

Everyone in my family loves this dish. You can also make it using canned green beans instead of fresh. It cuts down on the cooking time and taste just as good.

Husband likes this more than I do - I've never been a fan of meat or veggies with anything sweet - but I do think the brown sugar offsets nicely the saltiness of the bacon. This is nice for a change but not something we want all the time. Oh btw, this doesn't work with canned beans - the simmering really enhances the flavor, and canned beans turn to mush.
