I made this for Thanksgiving and it was the first pie to get eaten. It was super yummy. I followed the recipe exactly only I had a half can of sweetened condensed milk left over from a different recipe so I added that to the custard mixture and it just added to the creaminess. I would definitely make this again and again.

This pie is good for people who like coconut. I don't like coconut too much but made it for my mom since she loves it and both my dad and her liked it a lot. I used 1 1/2 cups of coconut milk and 1 1/2 cups of half and half. My only problems with it was it takes a while to boil depending on your stove and I was worried it would stay soupy at first but i decided to put it in the freezer and it firmed up nicely but took about 4 hrs. Otherwise it is a great recipe and it appears as though i am one of the very few people who had some trouble with the consistancy. 4 stars :) I also liked it a bit too coconutty for me but it was still good and i ate a slice. :)

Made this exactly as the recipe called for with the exception of I topped it off with real whipped cream which this recipe truly deserves, although I'm sure it would still taste great with the store bought topping. This is as good of a coconut cream pie as I have ever had and everybody else who ate it at the Thanksgiving table raved it. If you love coconut cream pie look no further. Thanks for the great recipe!

I didn't put any whipped topping or toasted coconut on top. I doubled the recipe--cooked it all at once (as directed) in a big pot on the stove. I used 1/4 cup cornstarch and 1/2 cup flour mixed as the thickening. I happened to have a can of coconut milk and a can of coconut sugar on hand. I used about 2 cups coconut milk, 2 and 1/2 cups of 2% milk and 1 and 1/2 cups of heavy whipping cream (remember, I doubled the recipe). I used 2 cups of coconut sugar. Followed everything else to a "T"! Perfect. People who don't like coconut very much and my husband who normally doen't go for cream pies when there is other stuff around (I made this in addition to about 5 other desserts for thanksgiving) LOVED it. I think the coconut milk and sugar really added to the over all "coconuttyness." ENJOY!

OMG!!!.....this pie is AWESOME!!!.....I substituted 1.5 cups coconut cream + 1.5 cups half & half for the 3 cups half & half. I also used the 1/2 cup starch in place of the flour. Very easy and delicious!!!

Very Good! The only problem was the flour got little lumps, even whisking didn't help. Next time I will whisk the flour with a small amount of the milk first. It tasted awesome! Tried using 1 cup of heavy cream and 2 cups half&half-very creamy. Will make this again, family loved it!

I split half and half and 2% milk and split flour and cornstarch. I had never made coconut cream pie before and I bought a coconut and looked up a recipe. I wanted to make if fresh and this recipe is AWESOME! I didn't try it the way it says I read the reviews and did what the pros said. My husband and friends loved it. it's really rich. For the topping I made fresh whipping cream and added sugar and coconut flakes...It's soooooo good! Use it...oh, it did take a while stirring but not that bad and as long as you keep the temp on medium and keep stirring it's about 10 min or so. It's totally worth it. Bon Apetite!

I let it set in the fridge over night and still don't have a solid....what did I do wrong? Any advice please let me know!! Thanks...if not the "pudding" tastes absoluetly delicious!! LOL
