Old Bay® Lady Liberty Seafood Salad

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups small shell pasta, uncooked
  • 1 cup thinly sliced celery
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/2 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Italian-style salad dressing
  • 2 teaspoons Old Bay® Seasoning
  • 1 1/2 pounds cooked shrimp, halved

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cook the pasta in boiling salted water following package directions until tender. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, celery, green and red bell peppers and red onion.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Italian dressing, and Old Bay. Pour into pasta; mix well. Stir in the shrimp. Chill 2 hours if desired. Sprinkle with additional Old Bay just before serving, if desired.

Everyone loved it at the football party! I added extra pasta and sauce to the mixture to make it more of a pasta salad with shrimp instead of a 50/50 shrimp-pasta salad. Anyway, it was a hit at the party!

it has potential! If I try this again I will let the shrimp "marinate" for a while to soak up tha wonderful Old Bay flavor before adding them to the rest off the ingredients. I also think it would taste better without the onion. thanks for this easy recipe!

Easy, attractive, flavorful and a salad I'll make again. I used medium-sized shells and white wine vinaigrette instead of the italian dressing.
