This is a keeper! Even my skeptical hubby liked it. I did change it up a bit to use up what I had on hand. I only had 2 spicy chicken sausage links, so I supplemented with some diced ham. I substituted rutabaga for potatoes because we're low-carbing. Besides the kale, I also added some shredded cabbage, diced carrots, and Italian seasoning. I threw everything in the slow-cooker for about 5 hrs (high). Delicious!

I have made this soup several times and we LOVE it. I had family coming in to town for Christmas and had to cook for many people, I made this soup and everyone loved it. I was emailing the recipe like crazy. My sister and mom have made it several times since then as well. This recipe is now a family favorite.

This recipe surprised me. It's so simple and when it first pulled together I didn't even really love the smell BUT after simmering for a few hours I have to say, it was wonderful. In fact, I think that it was best the next day. My 2 year old loves it...for what it's worth. I plan on putting this recipe in my rotation :)

This was really good. The whole family loved it. I wasn't sure what to do with the kale that I got in my farmer's market bag and this recipe was a great find. I didn't puree any part of the soup and used all mild Italian sausage.

Love this! You can stretch the sausage and use half as much, especially if it's spicy. We use jalapeno chicken sausage and love how it gives its flavor to the whole soup!

Delicious! I only used 1lb of medium-hot sausage and omitted the baguette. Also didn't puree any portion of the soup.
