Really good cookie, I added 1/2 tsp of nutmeg to it and soaked the raisins in some hot water for a wee bit.. Other than that, follwed recipe to a T. My picky kids like it too. Thanks!!

I just baked these and they smell delicious (the batter tastes great too!) My only addition to this recipe would be another 1/4 c of flour, 1/4 c of walnut pieces, 1/4 c butter, and some flaxseeds. You get a good dose of your omega-3s and some fiber! Super Power Cookie!

I really like this recipe, to me it is very simple and basic. In other words you can modify as you like without harming the cookie. For instance Iwanted to make it as healthy as possible, considering that it is a cookie! So I divided the butter and used Coconut Oil as the other half. I added about 1/4 cup of coconut milk and then added about 1/2 cup of freshly ground flax seed meal and about 1/4 C. Pecan fines because I am trying to use up what I have on hand, (poor teeth, really)I also had about two handfuls of carob chips, so add 1 hanful. Then I found that the cooking time was a bit short for my additions so I lowered the temp to 350 and extended the time to 15 to 18 min. I just don't think that there is any way you could harm these cookies. Of, course listen to the other reviews and get them off the baking sheet immediately, then enjoy. What a cool recipe. btw I two soaked the raisins a bit but don't think it too necessary deepending on the condition of the raisins, if pretty dry then by all means soak. Ginny

I'm 4 months pregnant and have been craving oatmeal raisin cookies and these have hit the spot! I boiled the raisins first so that they would be softer, and I didn't have baking soda so I used 2 1/2 tsp of baking powder and they seemed to be come out fine anyway..

My husband loves oatmal raisin cookies (his absolute favorite) so I wanted to make them homemade for him. I halved the entire recipe (since he's the only one who eats them), added 2 extra tablespoons of flour, soaked the raisins in hot water to plump them up, and used old-fashioned oats instead (couldn't find rolled oats at the supermarket). The cookies didn't run together and plumped up nicely. Outside was crispy, yet the inside was chewy. My hubby loved them, so the recipe will definitely go into the recipe box!

Super easy. I just kind of eyeballed everything. Did run. I learned to use a tablespoon instead of a teaspoon.

No problems!! I read some of the advice, and so reduced the sugar and added a tiny bit more flour. I didn't soak the raisins, but will next time. I also added a few more spices. Great cookies!! Thanks!

This recipe came out perfectly for me the first time I tried it. They are a hit with my family. I read most of the reviews here prior to starting. I did soak my raisins which made them extra plump, but I found I did not need to add the extra flour or baking soda, as the dough already had a nice consistency. My cookies did not run at all, and puffed up quite nicely. I cut the white sugar down to 1/2 cup, but kept the brown sugar at 3/4 cup. This did not affect the taste of the cookies, thanks to the raisins, which add natural sweetness. I also added a little extra cinnamon as well as ground star anise (1/2 tsp) to this recipe, which gives a nice flavour. For baking, I rolled spoon-sized amounts of the dough into balls. I turned my oven down to 350, as I found the first batch to be browning a little too quickly on the edges. My cookies needed about 9 minutes, but I had to watch them. They aren't the kind that you can pop in the oven and walk away. Here's a tip: if you want a slightly flatter cookie, press the cookies down with a fork about 1/2 through baking. I will definitely be making these again!

wow! This is the first perfect cookie I've ever made! I am so thrilled! I altered it just slightly with more 1 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of white, also, when I went to add the oatmeal, I noticed that I had run out, so I substituted the oatmeal with instant oatmeal, the cinnamon flavor and apple flavor! It was so delicious! Thanks!

After reading the reviews- I changed the recipe slightly and the cookies were WONDERFUL! Hand mix for sure all the ingredients and then I was able to roll into balls, and flatten slightly. I increased the flour to 1 3/4 c, increased the oats to 3 C, and increased the baking soda to 2 tsp. I also used 1 cup of chocolate covered raisins, and 1/2 cup of regular raisins. EVERYONE LOVED these cookies! They raised well and had an excellent flavor! Will make them again and again!
