Very close to the local bakery's recipe, which my kids love.

I love this bread. It turned out very good even though I forgot to let it rise twice. It was a little doughy the day it was baked, but the next day it was perfect. It's very tasty and it's become one of my families favorite bread recipes!

Good, but the flavors are to strong, I would attempt 1/2 whole wheat or something different next time to offset the strong molasses taste. I did really like how light and fluffy it turned out to be, it just needs a little tweeking.

This bread was delicious. I had trouble finding a recipe like my grandmother's and this was almost bang on! I live in a high altitude and a drafty house so I turned the oven on to 170 and then turned it off before putting the dough in the oven to rise. The warmth of the oven made for perfect conditions. I will definitely be making this one again and again. Goes great with slow-cooker beans.

Good bread. It has a light molasses flavor that isn't overpowering. Soft and moist. I didn't add the aniseed because I didn't have any.

Delicious bread, and really easy. I made this as part of my Christmas gifts this year. I gave it away along with homemade peanut butter and homemade marshmallow creme. Fluffer-nutter kits!
