I think the original recipe would be great as is, but I didn't have those ingredients. So I used a little over 1/3 cup butter, 1/2 cup regular sugar, a couple dashes salt, 1 cup Life Cereal, 1/2 cup oats, 1 tablespoon ground flax seed, 1/3 cup peanuts, 1/3 cup regular raisins. Turned out great but I think it would have been even better if I had all the right ingredients on hand.

Very good. Made this over the holidays and left out the nuts due to nut allergies in the family.

Big, big hit as an appetizer at Thanksgiving. Grownups and kids both really liked it. I'm giving it as a gift to neighbors this Christmas, wrapped in a pretty box. I'm doing this instead of making lots of different kinds of cookies - and I'm sure they will like it even more. It is that good and easy. I pretty much threw in ingredients and left some out. No need to get crazy about precise measurements.

Wow - what a huge disappointment after reading such glowing reviews! Since it is a snack mix I assumed that the oats would clump together but instead they were just coated little crumbs. I made this for bunco group but didn't want to leave the hostess' house a mess so I quickly made a substitute.

This should be called 'Crack-Mix'. sooo addictive. I used plain Shreddies, organic oats, local honey. fresh ground cinnamon...WOW. I also used pecans (had no walnuts) and it went perfectly with the dried cranberries and choco-covered raisins. Definitely glad I read the 'let it cool before adding the raisins'....makes sense.

Mmm, I haven't even added the cranberries or chocolate covered raisins and I know this is a winner. For our preferences, I added about 1 1/2 cups twisted pretzels, a couple T of flax seed to the butter mix, peanuts instead of walnuts and used Crispix instead of "square oat cereal." Oh, also, I ran out of honey so I used half maple syrup/half honey. I can't tell a big difference there. I can't wait for my hubby to try it!

This wasn't as good as I hoped, but still pretty good. To be fair, I mistakenly thought I had honey, so I had to substitute with white sugar and karo syrup so it may have been different with honey. Otherwise I used corn flakes and cheerios which i thought worked very well. the corn flakes were especially tasty as they candied up well. I also used a little popcorn as suggested by another user, but found the popcorn didn't work as well so I wouldn't recommend using that. I haven't added cranberries or raisins yet, but will likely do that tomorrow. However even without the berries and raisins it would be just fine.

I have made this a number of times and it is very good. I put more of the cranberries in it, but other than that, followed the recipe.
