Nutty Wheat Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water (70 degrees to 80 degrees)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 tablespoons olive or canola oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. In bread machine pan, place the first eight ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available. Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed).
  2. Just before the final kneading (your machine may audibly signal this), add the pecans and walnuts.

I used 1T molasses and 3 T honey. Great taste. I will make this again. Great bread! MORE
