Ingredients

  • 1 pound unsalted butter
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons bakers' ammonia
  • 1 cup finely chopped almonds
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Stir in the powdered ammonia and chopped almonds. Knead in the flour. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and freeze for 1 hour.
  2. preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Take cookies out of the freezer and bake for 30 minutes.
