Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds

Directions

  1. Mix brown sugar, butter or margarine, and water. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in nuts and mix well.
  2. Shape in roll 2 1/2 inches in diameter, cover and chill until firm.
  3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  4. Cut dough into 1/8-1/4 inch slices. Bake on greased cookie sheet 8-10 minutes.
