Alright... good substitute when in a pinch. However it is vital to let sit in fridge for an hour or so. Any less and certain ingredients stand out... longer you chill, the better the flavors blend into one taste. very yummy after that:)

Thanks for posting this recipe. Mayo doesn't like me so I'm always looking for mayo free dressings. This recipe is easy and very good. I find it is better the next day. This will be a staple.

This is a very good recipe; however might I suggest using fresh chopped onion and crushed garlic. It gives more depth to the dressing.

Excellent! I agree with others that it's better after "resting" in the fridge a while. I prefer to use the fresh herbs, garlic and onions so readily available all year round but it's a terrific dressing either way. Krys

Yummy! We do like Mayo, but I wanted to do a healthier alternative. I actually use 1 cup fat free plain yogurt, and 1/3 cup Light Sour Cream, and 1/3 cup Veganaise grapeseed oil Mayo. (sometimes a splash of buttermilk too) I'm sure it would be great as written though, and the spices are just perfect! My husband likes a thick dressing and LOTS of it. He is also so picky about his Ranch (he was attached to the bottled stuff) But he absolutely LOVES this. He eats it every day at lunch on his Salads. I did NOT want to be feeding him MSG and tons of fat and preservatives everyday, so this recipe is a Lifesaver!

im pregnant and prefer not to risk using mayo in my recipes since it is made with raw eggs. this recipe was such a wonderful substitute, just the right spices and creaminess.

I absolutely love this recipe! My husband and I can't get enough of it. I make it a night before and let it sit together then shake the jar the next day and it is better than the bottle!

This was pretty lackluster, to us. I made it in a pinch when i had no store bought ranch for Mr. LTH for grilled chicken salads and it was NOT a hit. I thought I'd like it because I'm not a mayo fan, but not so much....

This is a great little mayo-free dressing! In an attempt to eat healthier I was looking for low-fat/fat free dressing recipes and found this one. I made it but didn’t use it for a day, so it set in the refrigerator overnight and that allowed the flavors to combine. I’m really glad to have this recipe; it’s hands down a better option than the low-fat/fat free dressings in the store.

my daughter made this for the first time. very good dressing, even though she used too much buttermilk, was able to save with adding more sour cream.

This turned out pretty darn good, considering it's low fat. I'm still undecided about the addition of dried parsley, though. Definitely tastes better after it sits for a day but next time I'll try it without the parsley:o)

Love it! Love it! And we like mayo, too. It's a great all around dressing to doctor up or not. Do try it! Leftovers a long time in the fridge, too.

this is delicious. It is good with veggies and on salads. It is even good on your fingers. I am going to use it the next time I make hot wings, too. Thank you so much for a recipe for ranch dressing that I don't feel guilty about eating and doesn't pack on the pounds.

My husband hates mayo so he automatically likes this better than a lot of dressings. I used thick Greek style yogurt instead of sour cream. I think I'll try adding a bit of sugar next time to off-set the sourness. Either that or use regular milk instead of buttermilk. I any case, you can't buy ranch dressing in Cyprus, so I'm happy to have a recipe to start with.

I love this! It works well as a salad dressing or dip for veggies. I used it as a dressing for potato salad and it was delicious. When I first tasted it I thought something was missing something. I added 1/2 tsp. of sugar and thought it was perfect. Thanks!

This was a easy recipe to make. My hubby loved it. He hates mayo and he said that he likes this better than store bought ranch. I thought it was ok and my guest agreed with me. It tastes to much like sour cream. After it sat for 24 hours it tasted much better. Will use again only cause the hubby likes it.
