I made these as a kid with my mom and every once and a while I crave them. I didn't have any chocolate but I had Ovaltine for the kids milk on hand and used it instead and it still came out great! It just took a little more to get the flavor right. Great recipe and of course the kids loved them!

For a non-dairy option, use coconut milk instead of milk and be sure to use dairy-free margarine (no whey or casein added). The coconut milk adds a subtle cocunut flavor, but it goes well with the chocolate-peanut butter flavor of the cookies. My friend has a dairy allergy, and these make a great treat that I can share with her!

Great recipe. I did cut the sugar down to 1 1/2 cups instead of 2 and did the microwave method mentioned in one of the reviews- microwave all ingredients except oats and pb for 3 1/2 min. then stir, microwave for 3 1/2 more minutes and mix in the oats and pb. Mine actually set up in about 15 minutes.

Five stars because my children could not get enough of them! Mine stayed sticky and didn't firm up but still tasted excellent. Since I will be making more, I will play around with the boiling time and see if I can get them a little less pudding like and more cookie like. :)

After reading some reviews, I made some changes and thought they turned out great! I decreased sugar to 1.5 cups (which still seemed to be PLENTY) and cooked AT A ROLLING BOIL for a little over 2 minutes. Not too runny, definitely not dry! Next time I will probably try to decrease the sugar by another 1/4 cup and increase the oats by a bit. I like my cookies hearty.

Follow this trick for a perfect no bake cookie- bring to a rolling boil over medium heat for 90 seconds and DO NOT STIR, if you stir these or boil them over high heat they turn out DRY, if you don't bring them to a rolling boil or don't cook them for 90 seconds then turn out too SOFT and do not set! You will end up with a perfect cookie guaranteed!!

Super easy, but too soft still at one minute. I'll try 2 minutes next time.

I followed the recipie exactly and ended up with a crumbly mess. On the bright side, the mess tastes good :) It was just too dry.

I love the flavor of these cookies, but for the life of me I can never get them to set right! I just made them again for the 4th time and while they look pretty resting on the wax paper they are to soft to peel off. On a positive note, I made these at 11pm at night, and didn't want to run to the store for white sugar so I substituted dark brown sugar in its place, and they still taste awesome. I normally wouldn't do that, but I was invited to a last minute Sunday Dinner at a friends and thought taking a desert would nice, and these cookies are quick and easy to make.

I love these! I did follow someone's suggestion about how long to boil. Everytime I make them they turn out different. But, they always taste wonderful :)

I am a beginning baker and my boyfriend really wanted these cookies for his birthday. I was so intimidated by these cookies! I found this recipe and decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did!! If you follow the directions exactly it makes a very yummy cookie! A few tips I used...measure out all your ingredients before you start cooking so they are ready to go and you can work very quickly. Once my mix started to boil rapidly, I then timed the boil for 1 minute. This worked beautifully and I had a large batch of yummy cookies!
