I followed this and my cookies didn't set up, does it matter if you use butter or margarine ? I used margarine.

Great no bake cooki recipe!! I have tried to make no bakes several times and they never seem to set right for me. This recipe worked perfectly!! Timimg the boil for one minute at the start of the rolling boil was the trick! I think next time I am going to add a tad more cocao, as I would have liked a more chocolatey taste... If you have had a hard time making these cookies in the past this recipe could be for you!!!

I love these. I think they taste wonderful and are very easy to make. They aren't too dry like many no bakes.

This recipe is very close to mine, I got it when i was in Kindergarden, about 25 years ago, just a fun tip if your doing this with kids cocoa- dirt, milk- swamp water, sugar- crushed bones, butter- fat, oats- dried grass, -PB - squashed insects. We call it FEED THE DINOS! So fun!

I didn't have cocoa powder, I used unsweetened baker's chocolate, 1 square (2 halves) instead. They turned out perfect. Yummy

Fantastic! I left it at a rolling boil about 2 minutes. Texture was perfect and they held together perfectly. Because one reviewer said they were awfully sweet I cut sugar to 1 1/3 cup and they were still a bit too sweet for my taste. Next time I'll use 1 cup. I used a 'heaping' 1/2c peanut butter (probably 3/4 cup). I melted the vanilla and peanut butter into the chocolate mixture until smooth before adding the oats. And I did NOT use quick oats (I saw some reviews that said you must). Either is fine. Cooking oats are less processed and a bit better for you. You cookie might be a little more chewy. I don't think I can tell the difference. Great recipie!

Exactly the recipe I was looking for...perfection! I agree with others that it's all about the timing! 1 1/2 mins from a full boil. Thank you!

These are great. They turned out perfectly. Also, anyone who gives this recipe a lousy review based on their own lack of cooking skills,or simply because they didn't follow the recipe correctly, aren't being fair. You can't down a recipe for failing when it was because of you the recipe failed.

Only change I made was to use smooth peanut butter and I used the new Jif Natural. The cookies turned out perfectly!! My little guy is gobbling them up. Thanks for the recipe. The boiling time is perfect.

Followed the recipe precisely and was very happy with the results. They were just the right consistency! MAKE SURE you have all the ingredients and wax paper spread ready for when you take it off the heat. You definitely have to work quickly! I remembered these from when I was a kid and had a craving for some. Awesome stuff!!!

I'm in Japan right now and ovens are hard to come by in most houses so this recipe is perfect! The only thing I did differently was use peanut whip instead of peanut butter since real peanut butter is so expensive here, but they still turned out delicious!
