YUM! I just made these using 3/4 cup of margarine and I always use milk chocolate chips. I think these are pretty good. I used a heaping 1/2 cup of peanut butter but I wish I wouldn't have just used normal 1/2 cup because I was looking for more of a chocolate taste but I really could taste the peanut butter, either way these were still awesome!

To start, I did alter this recipe after reading other reviews. I used 3/4 C butter and 3/4 C peanut butter. The oatmeal topping and bottom were pretty crumbly, but this was so good. I don't know who I'm going to give these to...If I don't give them away, I'll weigh 500 lbs! This was also a super easy recipe. My 4 year old helped me, and was able to measure all of the ingredients.

These are very good. Next time I will also use a bit less butter, as recommended by several others already.

This recipe was prretty good! I didnt really follow the directions though. I used 1 whole cup of brown sugar instead of 1/2 cup. I also only cooked the oat mixture for about one min. But the whole thing was fantastic once refridged. Next time I probably will only use 1/2 cup peanut butter!!!!

These were just OK. I thought the oats were greasy and a bunch fell off while cutting. Our kids liked them...and I liked the ease in making them. Not sure if I'd make them again.

These were so good. I need something to make up for the bad cookies I made the other night. These certainly did the trick. Per other's reviews I decreased the butter to 3/4 cup. I also used a heaping 1/2 cup of peanut butter. This is a very fast easy dessert to make, I was able to whip this up and have in the freezer before having to be at the soccer fields by 8:30 am. Definitly a keeper. Thanks!

I cut the butter to 3/4 c and incresed the peanut butter to 3/4 c. as suggested by others. The rest I followed exactly. These are a great warm weather treat. I will decrease the butter a little more the next time. I can't wait to try some of the other suggestions for this cookie.

I liked the idea of the layering and the chocolate/peanut butter mix. Cutting them at refrigerated temperature was fine. However, when serving, the oat part crumbled badly, after only being out for a few minutes: making for poor presentation and was very messy to pick up and eat. Sorry, the flavor is "addictively" delicious, but the recipe needs tweaking.

Oh man these were soooo good! I could probably eat the whole pan myself...but I'll try to restrain myself. I was looking for something to make without using the oven becauce its been so hot here. These were perfect! I used half semi sweet chocolate chips and half milk chocolate chips. I'll be making these all the time now!

Really good but as others mentioned there's too much butter. I had a big puddle of it on the bottom of the pan as I was putting it in the pan. Rich but delish.

I decreased the amount of butter to 3/4 cup, and increased the amount of peanut butter to 3/4 cup. There was too much oatmeal mixture for the bars, but it was good to eat plain! Next time, I'll make peanut butter and jam bars by adding about 1/2 cup of raspberry jam! These are great!

Because I used less butter (like others recommended) I found that when eating the bars, the oatmeal topping kept falling off. I think next time I will make with the stated amount of butter, so that maybe it will stick together better. Great recipe - everyone loved them! Made two batches - one with semi-sweet and the other with milk chocolate - don't know that I could tell much of a difference in the taste.

These were very good, I took advice from another and used 2/3 C margarine and 1/2 C b sugar for the base, I only had 2 C of the oats so I used all of that for the base. I used semi and milk choc. chips with the peanut butter for the filling and added a layer of cheerios pressed onto the top. My daughter turned her nose up at it when she saw the cheerios, but she had a bar of this in her hand on her way out the door this morning! I will try these again but I will use the oats/b sugar for the topping.
