New England Clam Chowder II Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 1)

I made one small change in my recipe. I added another can of clams and only put a splash of heavy cream in. I then stick blended some of the clams to get some of the thickness naturally than having to add some of the heavy cream. A simple yet excellent recipe that everyone should try.

I was looking for my clam chowder recipe I've had on a card for years but could not find it. This is it, with one exception....add the juice from the canned clams too. Easy and very good.

This was FANTASTIC!! I doubled the recipe and I had 6.5 oz of clams cans, but I added 3 and it was perfect.

I tried this recipe after reading the other critiques and found some of the suggestions helpful. Really easy to make and my kids enjoyed it! They asked me to make this again!

This was an extreme hit and my company gobbled it up! Now I did add some spices: thyme, bay leaf, and 1 small garlic clove. But it was sooooo tasty!

I changed/subbed a few things based on what I had on hand. Skipped bacon, used 2 medium redskin potatoes, 1% milk rather than half and half and only had about 1/4 of an onion. I also only had one can of chopped clams. I par-cooked the potatoes in the microwave and sauteed the onion and potatoes and celery flakes in 2 T of light butter. This was so very good and took 25 minutes.
