Made this for a potluck at work and it was a huge hit! Everyone commented on how tasty it was and there was even a discussion about how it made people feel at home... green bean casserole win!

I have made this for a number of holidays and even my non vegetable eaters come back for more. I always double and sometimes triple the recipe because it goes so fast. I have substituted low calaorie velveeta and low sodium soup with no one any the wiser and it has still been delicious.

Excellent recipe! I used a large (50 oz) can of CUT green beans and a small (15 oz) can so added a few tablespoons of whole milk and a little more cheese whiz. I left out the mushrooms just b/c family doesn't care for them.... this deserves an easy 5 star rating! Will be adding this to the holiday menu.

This was pretty good and I don't like green bean casserole. I think I will add more cheese next time though. And I used frozen (thawed) green beans instead of canned.

althoug i didnt care for my recipe, i think this one would get five stars if i had found the right cheese/bacon combo. i didnt add extra mushrooms cos i thought there was enough in the mushroom soup. the cheese/bacon cheese i used was crystal farm's cheddar with bacon cheese food and by itself it didnt taste good so i'm not surprised my recipe turned out like it did. we put cheese on our bean and peas to get the kids to eat them, so i think this recipe is right up our alley. next time i will try velveeta and bacon bits or regular "cooked" bacon. thanks! **update** made this recipe again with a jar of old english cheese and it was fantastic!!

honestly, the first time i read the ingredients to this recipe i thought it sounded horrible. after reading the reviews i decided to try this for a side at thanksgiving last year and now my family begs for them at every family dinner we have, it's always the most popular side on the table. delicious!!

My husband's favorite green bean casserole. Take the time to fry up some good bacon and crumble-always packs a bigger flavor punch than bacon bits.

This is a good green bean casserole, I cooked for some picky folks and they ate it all. I used the Kraft Old English Cheese like some suggested, and I had to leave out the extra jar of mushrooms. I am sure this recipe is great either way. Thank for a yummy side dish.

I made this with frozen green beans, and then with canned. I really didnt like the frozen and not many others did either. The canned seemed better. I put a lot of the fried onions in the mixture as well as on top. I dont know, it just wasn't as great as the other reviewers seemed to think.

AWESOME recipe!! You may be hesitant to change such a classic dish, but don't be... you MUST try this. The changes are subtle enough that no one notices it's a "different" recipe -- they just comment on how good it is. I made this for Thanksgiving and had a request to bring it for Christmas too. The ONLY thing I added was extra beans. If you're making a double recipe, you can easily add an extra can of beans. Also, with a double recipe, I just used the 5oz jar of Kraft Old English cheese spread (instead of trying to get 6oz). Thanks for this one!!

This recipe is delicious! My husband and I decided this will be the new holiday tradition. The only changes I made was I used about 3 quarters of a package of Krafts 4 cheese mexican cheese (2%) instead of processed, used about 5 strips of bacon chopped and added a half a can of milk (but I think I boiled out the liquids to thicken the sauce).
