This recipe wasn't that great. It's hard to mess up sloppy joes so it was fine but nothing impressive at all. It was too sweet for both me and my husband. I will not be making this again.

This was a big hit at our house. Everyone devowered it and we're bummin' we don't have left overs for tomorrow. The recipe was so easy my girls (12 & 9) made it on their own and they are pleased with the results. We didn't use the celery (used celery salt). Will use it again and again!

My picky 8 year old said these were "great". I followed ingredients exactly but threw everything in a crockpot (the beef was a solid frozen chunk), covered and cooked on high for about 6 hours. I took the lid off for about 1 hour to let it thicken a bit. So easy-will make again and again. Served with homemade coleslaw. EDIT: Made this again for dinner (prompted by photo on website). Used lean ground turkey. It was a bit on the soupy side so I added a handful of oats to thicken and add a little fiber. Still tastes great & so easy for a busy mom!

Easy but tasted too much like ketchup to me. Not for me.

I've never been a fan of Sloppy Joes. Mostly because they were way too messy and way too sweet. This recipe is neither and has changed my mind about the old Joe. I even froze a batch and it was great!

This was a very BASIC version of sloppy joe - I took the advice of the last person who reviewed it and it was still very bland! I never eat sloppy joe from a can since I started making my own, but to be honest I think I would prefer the taste of the canned sloppy joe then this recipe. I tried to salvage it and added cumin, garlic, BBQ sauce, and even a few shakes of hot sauce, and even my KIDS said it was bland. I wanted to try something new, but I think in the future I will stick to my own recipe. sorry!

This recipe is perfect as written. Truly the best sloppy joes I have ever had. And if the guests at my son's birthday party are any indication, the best they have ever had as well. I tripled the recipe and only have enough leftovers for dinner tonight. I'm looking forward to it!

Awesome! Perfect as is. However, I did add 1T of hickory smoked bbq sauce the 2nd time I made it just because. That was great too. I made this to keep in the fridge for a little later in the week....it didn't make it off the stove.

This was really good. I followed the recipe exactly as written. Next time I might add a couple pinches of pepper and maybe an extra dash of salt.

Anything that makes my daughter ask if she can have another portion of something after she takes only a bite or two gets 5 stars! I followed the recipe to a "T" except I did not add the celery, because of my kids. Mt husband ate at least 4 sandwiches. Great recipe, definite keeper.

I usually faithfully follow a different sloppy joe recipe that is my stepkids' absolute favorite. Tonight in a pinch I didn't have the ingredients for the other recipe on hand, but did have the ingredients for this, so we gave it a try. They loved it even more than the other recipe, which has been their tried-and-true favorite for a long time! They all said they like this one much better, although I found it to be a tad too much on the sweet side. Skipped the celery but otherwise followed to a tee. Next time I will decrease the brown sugar by a touch, but we will definitely be using this one from now on! Thanks for the great recipe!

I used one pound of venison, and one pound of ground beef. Other than that I did not change a thing. All the cowboys in the house loved it! It's a keeper. Thanks!

This recipe is absolutely the best tasting! I saute the chopped onion with fresh chopped garlic in a little olive oil, then brown the ground beef. I use tomato paste instead of ketchup, to decrease the sweetness a bit. Finally, instead of plain salt, I season the meat with "Jocko's" seasoning. However, this seasoning can only be purchased at Jocko's Steakhouse in Nipomo, California! Delicious!

YUM! I chopped the Celery with the Onions and some Garlic in the Food Processor, like Others suggested, and I did NOT think that the Celery was "overwhelming" at all! I did add the full Amount of Brown Sugar and did NOT find it too sweet, I found it just right! Awesome, easy, inexpensive Dish, and I will keep making it :)

Very good! My husband was nutso for this sauce! I don't think it's bland, but it is sweet, which is what we like. I added more garlic powder, some oregano, and some Tabasco to jazz it up a bit and it came out great! I was a little apprehensive about the celery, but it cooked down and provided a little crunch without being overpowering. I will definitely make this again!
