I just made this recipe twice in the last 2 weeks and my boyfriend loves it! The recipe was simple and straightforward and I definitely recommend it! I did cut down on the flour/sugar/oat mixture (just too much topping for us) and tossed the apples with cinnamon and added a little bit of water to the apple mixture. I also didn't add additional dabs of butter on top!

Love this! I used less butter on the top but otherwise did this just as the recipe says and it was perfect! Served with vanilla ice cream-my guests raved.

Absolutely great! We used honeycrisp apples, whole wheat flour and Splenda brown sugar and it turned out wonderful! Not too sweet, the apples were slightly tart and the crust was crunchy - will definitely make again and again!

I made this recipe last night, it was wonderful but I think I cut the apple slices to thin. I did follow the advise of others and sprinkle some cinnamon on the apples before the putting the topping on. My husband enjoyed it so much he asked me to make it again tonight (A first for him!!) This one is a keeper.

Ok, 4 stars because I made changes and I think I would not have liked it without the changes. I mixed in 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon with the apples (the apples were very very tart). I then used brown sugar in the topping instead of white sugar. I just have never heard of white sugar in a crisp topping! It was really good - and not too sweet at all.

Easy and yummy. Used this for a kid's cooking class (10 and under), and it was a great tool to teach measuring basics and kitchen safety. Not to mention the kids LOVED it.

Yummy! Don't be afraid to use more apples...stack them high in the pan as they will flatten while cooking. Love the fact that there is no need for a crust!
