Excellent recipe! I made this for a soup and bread event at school to serve about 30 people and it was a hit with curry. Relatively easy bread to make, but pretty involved time-wise. We fried the dough instead of grilling it and it came out fantastic. Tastes great by itself or with soup

Wow!!! My husband and I made this tonight and we are stuffing ourselves. We followed the recipe to a "T". In our experience, rolling the dough as thin as possible was the secret to creating those wonderful bubbles on the bread.

Delicious! I made this for a girls night with an Indian menu. It's snowing out and I didn't want to grill out, so I cooked it on an electric griddle and it came out great. I would definitely recommend using the garlic. It had a very good flavor and soft but slightly chewy texture. We served this with coconut curry chicken, hummus and veggies, and an Indian coconut rice pudding kind of thing. Not difficult to make either, but a bit time consuming.

This was amazing! I cooked it on a saute pan with olive oil in the pan and brushed the top with melted butter. Just have to watch the heat so it doesn't burn. Very very good!

We love these. I have cooked them two ways. The first time following the directions exactly. The second time I preheated my oven to 500 degrees and put a few at a time on cooling racks and put the whole thing on the top rack of my oven. It took about 3-4 minutes per batch to bake this way. You are looking for the bread to puff and then you know they are done. When they came out of the oven I brushed with them with butter. Both ways were fabulous. I will definitely be making these again soon!!

Very good, though a bit more doughy than my favorite Indian restaurant's naan. Went great with the Tikka Masala.

This made a terrific flatbread; but to call it "Naan" is stretching it a bit. I ended up only using 3 1/2 cups of flour and it was enough. I would make this again (minus the garlic), but to serve with the Serbian Cevapcici recipe (minus the pork) from this site. Now THATS a good combination!! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

We loved this Naan!! I don't know if I made them too small but we had 20 pieces of bread. We liked it more than the curry we made to go with it. Really Good!

Turned out a little less light and fluffy than I expected, although this may be due to us not having a grill or stone.

This is the BEST recipe on this site for Indian bread! Nearly as good as the restaurant's, but much better than the frozen kind.

These are awesome! I made mine on my George Foreman grill 2 at a time. Brushed one side with butter, laid that side down on the grill, then buttered the other side and cooked at 425 for 4 minutes, with the grill closed, which gave nice grill marks on both sides. I turned them over at 2 minutes to help even the browning. Came out light, fluffy, and buttery. Will be making these again!

I just made this on my stove and think that it's just ok. Though it's nice and soft, it does not taste like naan that I'm used to eating. I think that the buttering on both sides is a bit excessive (tastes like so much butter) and I think next time I'm just going spray the pan with butter flavored cooking spray and leave it like that. I'm also going to try adding the baking soda to see if I can get some bubbles next time since that mgiht change it. I'm going to make some Chicken Tikka Masala tomorrow and eat it with that so hopefully it will taste better that way. It is very easy to make and so much cheaper than buying the naan in the store.
