YUM! This is a great Naan recipe! I overlooked that it takes 1 1/2 hours of sitting though and so we had to have it WAY after we were done eating. My fault for not reading it through all the way! But this is great Naan. It didn't get the bubbles that you usually see in restaurants - but that didn't stop it from being totally delicious!

For my first time this came out excellent!! I always preheat my oven to 200 then turn it off and place the dough with a damp towel over it with the door open to help it rise faster. Then I tried the suggestions of reviewers and pinched the dough to help it bubble, but forgot to cover while cooking. The size of the balls is a bit small for my preference and the temp of the stove was a bit high, other than that great recipe! I added 3 cloves minced garlic to the dough and 2 cloves to the butter. I keep the dough refrigerated and enjoy them for a few nights!! Fabulous!!

I do not like to knead bread so I used my bread machine and just used the dough cycle; i also added the garlic in the bread machine. Then I do not like the grill so I used a panni machine. I could have eaten the enire batch; it made great pizzas for my toddlers.

Family loved this!!! Oddly enough, the yeast never bloomed, I think I was basically making glue patties and throwing them on the grill... Yet they turned out! I'll keep trying this recipe, It totally makes the Indian experience.

This is a great recipe. I made it for a dinner party and it was a huge hit. I mixed garlic salt into the dough and it was so good.

Perfect every time, and it even freezes well. I have cut out some steps by mixing the dough in a bread maker first and it still produces an excellent bread.

Outstanding! Our family loved it and my son said "I think I'm addicted to this bread". I used COLLEGECHEF1's advice and used the melted butter and garlic mixture. Thank you Mic!

I love this stuff! It's amazing! The only different thing I did in the making process was I put the sugar in with the water and yeast.

This recipe makes a good naan bread. However, I thought it took a long time for such a simple bread. Good taste if you are willing to spend a few hours in the kitchen.

I also put the garlic in with the butter instead of directly in the dough, and cooked in a skillet rather than on the grill.

Soooo good! I really didn't make any changes except I added 1 TBS of sugar for the first rising period because other reviewers said to "proof" the yeast. I didn't kneed in garlic, but instead when I was grilling, I added garlic powder to the butter and just spread it on there. I'm not sure why there were so many reviews regarding the "secret" to making it bubble, because ours came out very bubbly. To get it flat, you sort of just "shake" it out to get it to stretch and then just pull out the areas that are still thick. Absolutely delicious and so easy to make! Also-- definitely do it on the grill and make sure to not over cook it on each side.

I had never attempted naan before, but this recipe made it easy. I think I added a little too much flour which made the dough a little rubbery, but they ended up coming out great. I used extra garlic as suggested and grilled them as the recipe called for and they turned out well.

Best homemade naan recipe I've tried yet (and I've tried a lot of them from online sources). The only substitution I made was to use re-constituted powdered skim milk instead of regular milk - worked like a charm! My dough didn't rise all that much during the first rising, so I was a bit nervous, but by the end of the second rising, I got a soft, smooth, beautifully pliable dough that stretched perfectly without making holes, and puffed up wonderfully in the pan! Absolutely delicious!!! ^_^

I moved to a place that is 150 miles to the closest Indian restaurant and thus I had to learn how to make some of my favorite dishes myself. This naan is time consuming but worth it. Take another reviewers advice about how to proof the yeast. Also, I use my stand mixer to knead the dough and it turns out great every time. Finally, I add a bunch more garlic than it calls for.

This is a great flat bread recipe that reminds me of the naan from an Afghan resturant in Fremont. I found, as other reviewers mentioned, that 3 1/2 cups of flour is enough. I threw everything into the bread machine, except butter, and set it on dough cycle instead of making it by hand. To cook, I used my non-stick wok and just dry-cooked the flatened dough over medium heat. Thanks for this delicious naan!
