Great recipe. It didn't quite taste authentic, to remedy this I substituted plain yogurt in place of the milk, and added 1 tbsp. Also you have to roll this out super super thin and you'll get those nice bubbly spots, and I have used a preheated cookie sheet that I heated to 450, and I've also cooked them in an iron skillet on the stovetop (not fried).

I was quite impressed when I made these - they were lighter inside than they looked. I forgot to add the baking soda, but I will next time and see how they improve. I used 3 1/2 cups of flour and it was more than enough for 4. I also used the dough cycle on the bread maker for the first rising. Good recipe!

I made this bread last night for my husband & I, if it tells you anything it's almost gone today! I added 1/2 tsp of baking powder. I tried cooking it on the stove and didn't like the results. So I cooked it at 500 f. in the oven and it bubbled up beautifully and made wonderful little naans, MUCH better than on the stove. I will definitely be making these again.

This was great!!! I did it in my bread machine on the 'dough cycle', rolled into balls and let rise under a towel 30 minutes. As per some suggestions I added 1/2 tsp of baking soda to help the dough bubble when cooking; substituted the milk for greek yogurt and reduced the flour to 3.5 cups for using the bread machine. Then rolled into oblong shapes (see my pictures). We grilled it on LOW direct heat on the BBQ (propane). I did start them on indirect heat for my sample but it not bubble at all and dried out. I probably did about 3 mintues per side and sprinked with seasalt as they came off the grill. Kept them warm in a large foil pouch (vented) while the chicken finished. We wound up handing some over the fence to curious neighbors because it smelled like heaven!! A new family favorite!

Turned out great! I did add the 1/2 tsp baking soda as recommended by another reviewer and I used a grill pan on a gas stove and used minimum heat. Very yummy and the entire family loved it. Thanks for sharing!

I decided to make this instead of going to the store to buy pita bread since I had all the ingredients at home. This was so good & easy to make. I served it along w/chicken kabobs, basmati rice, greek salad & tzatziki sauce...my family LOVE IT! Thank you, Mic.

This was amazing! It makes a lot of naan, which is ok because you won't be able to keep your face out of it.

OK, I really liked this. First of all, it was just plain fun to throw dough on the grill. As a freshly minted vegan guy who loves his outdoor cooking I was excited to find this naan recipe. It never occured to me that I could make naan without the tandori oven. IMPORTANT: In step 1, the directions omit adding sugar to the water to proof the yeast. If you're not familiar with breadmaking, look up how to proof yeast before attempting this recipe. I used freshly ground whole wheat with added gluten. I also used corn starch + water in place of the egg and soy milk. I know, it sounds like I made a different recipe. The Naan was denser than it would have been otherwise, but still fairly fluffy (the added gluten helped, I think) and really tasty. I served it topped with freshly made hummus, diced tomato, and grilled summer squash. It was a filliing and healthy meal. I was quite pleased with myself. :-) ...and I got to slap dough on the grill like I knew what I was doing.
