Hang tight!
"I have played around with this old family recipe adding nuts, chips etc. and it always turns out really good and if made ahead is really quick when you need cookies in a hurry." — Nancy Reeves

1 cup butter
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1 cup chopped walnuts
This a great cookie for cookie exchanges. I've baked them now for the last 3 years and everyone enjoys them. A basic recipe - easy to adjust if you're adventurous. I like to dip one side in red or green sugar just before baking. Excellent for Christmas!
What do I do with the walnuts?
