This is awesome chili! I love that it's not loaded with beans. I put a TON of cumin in it as well, and about 4 times the amount of chili powder, and my 3 year old even loves it. Best with shredded cheddar and sour cream.

I have made this recipe several times this year. It is the BEST! The only thing that I do differently is puree the stewed tomatoes since I do not like chunks of tomato in anything.

Awesome chili! This is my husband's favorite. I use ground turkey instead of ground beef and only one tablespoon of chili powder. Great recipe, though!

This was a huge hit! I added another can of beans and then added some taco seasoning to give it a little more kick. I garnished with sour cream, shredded cheddar, chopped jalepenos, and green onion. It made a huge pot and I was hoping to have leftovers to freeze for a later date, but I invited DIL's over and we only had a small bowl left!

Excellent - so easy and so tasty. I made it with ground turkey as that was on sale, and it didn't compromise the taste at all. Served it with fat free sour cream - a hearty dinner for cold winter nights.

This recipe was good, but a simple addition to the recipe made it a hit at our house. I added a jar of medium salsa. It was just the "kick" needed!

This is a great basic chili recipie, if you change it a little. I used 1 lb. ground beef, only 2 cans of petite diced tomatoes, and added celery and green pepper. It's the best basic recipie i've used yet. I like that it's not very spicy. This makes a lot of chili. Still looking for the "perfect chili" recipie.

Great base recipe, but it needed a few things to really fit the bill. I left out the tomato sauce and added 2 oz of tomato paste and 1/2 c. of beef broth instead. I added 1 1/2 t. of cumin, an extra clove of garlic, dash of worcheshire, 1/2 t. more salt, 2t. sugar and 1/4t cayenne. It's awesome!

This was a little soupy as is. Next time, I will add some cumin and probably not add the tomato sauce. It didn't really do anything for it.

This really is a no fuss, delicious basic chili recipe. I encourage the use of stewed tomatoes as is called for in the recipe - I used diced based on one of the reviews and wish that the chunks of tomatoes were less present. It's mild tasting that is easily kicked up with some good hot sauce - also, use Two cans of beans to drive it home!!

I used to work at Lonestar Steakhouse, where they served Chili. I have been dying to have chili again and this recipe was the real deal. I did add cumin, brown sugar and an extra can of beans. Forget the other recipes, this is the best, tasted exactly like the Lonestar chili I had been yearning for. Hope this review helps in your search for true chili.

normally i prefer spicy chili but found this recipe to be very good as is. the only changes i made were in using ground buffalo (what was on hand) & doubling the kidney beans (personal preference). we really loved the rich, full flavor & slow burn. thank you michelle!

This is really the best chili I have ever had. I had never made chili before so I wanted to make sure I got a pretty basic recipe so that I wouldn't mess it up. I made this to bring camping and it was a very good choice, we heated the pot over the camping stove and everyone really enjoyed it. I used 3 cans of diced tomatoes instead of stewed tomatoes, everything else I followed exactly. I can't wait to make this again!!
