This was awesome, I only made afew changes. I used ranch style beans instead of kidney and I added more chili powder and put some cayenne pepper in! Wonderful on a cold night!

Wonderful! 1st time ever making chili; I added 1 tbsp Cumin, 1 tsp each of cinnamon and allspice, about 1 tbsp of sugar, doubled the chili powder and added 1 tbsp cayenne pepper & doubled the kidney beans - I drained the beans about halfway before putting them in, which I did at the beginning. I also used crushed tomatoes instead of stewed. This made for a WONDERFUL, thick, spicy chili - thanks so much! What a great basic chili recipe for a beginner!

This was a very good basic chili that can easily be augmented with additional ingredients (corn niblets, chopped jalapenos and some hot sauce came to mind as we chowed down). Next time, I plan to use one less can of tomatoes (it was a little soupy) and perhaps 6 cloves of garlic instead of 4 and an extra tablespoon of chili powder(the recipe could use a little extra spice). We topped with shredded cheddar, chopped black olives and a dollop of sour cream to dress it up a bit! Went great with "Golden Sweet Cornbread."

Great, easy recipe. I made a few changes though...I used the suggestion of 1 can less stewed tomatoes, added some water. Also added cumin and cajun seasonings and probably doubled the amt of chili powder but it still wasn't enough. I also put chicken and polish sausage into my chili instead of ground beef. A bit too tomato-ey last night but it's perfect today! My friends loved it.

Delicious! Just traditional chili and that is what I love! I only put in 2 onions as my husband isn't fond of them. I added some tabasco and a little extra chili powder to make it a little more spicy. This is the first time I have ever made chili. It was so easy and so good! Thanks for the recipe!

Great Great recipe. Tasted like "traditional" chili. We liked it a lot. I didn't have quite enough cans of tomatoes on hand. I was a can short, and it was still fabulous (oh, and one of the cans was italian seasoned, and it tasted just fine) Yum. Great with corn muffins!

Yummy! A bit on the salty side so I suggest using chili seasoning (1/2 packet) and no salt. I added cumin like other sugested plus worshchester and a tsp. of brown sugar. Really good. Days after it went well with spaghetti too since it was about the consistency of chunky sauce.

Will definitely make this again! I took the advice of others and added more seasoning and only 3 cans of stewed tomatoes. It turned out great!

This recipe was wonderful. I had a huge group of people here, so I customized the recipe for 25 servings. Instead of kidney beans, I used a 1 gallon can of Ranch Style beans and I used a 1 gallon can of stewed tomatoes plus 2 15 ounce cans of diced tomatoes. Everyone raved about this chili!! I will definitely be making it again!!

THIS WAS AWESOME. I DID HAVE TO USE SOME CHILI MIX BECAUSE I RAN OUT OF CHILI POWDER. PLUS I ADDED A LITTLE BIT OF CUMIN AND SOME MUSHROOMS. NEXT TIME I MIGHT SUBSTITUTE HALF THE STEWED TOMATOES FOR DICED BECAUSE IT IS KIND OF A PAIN BREAKING THE STEWED TOMATOES APART. THIS MADE ALOT. IM GOING TO MAKE CHILI CHEESE DOG POT PIE AND CHILI CASSEROLE FROM THIS WEBSITE WITH THE LEFTOVERS.

This was excellent!! Just what I was looking for in a chili recipe. Very simple to make, you only have to cut up the onions and garlic and then after that it is just a matter of adding the canned goods and stirring it. Thanks so much for this fantastic recipe, I normally hate cooking, but found this extremely simple and something I plan to make again!!

We just finished this chili and it was delicious. Even my children ate it! Very flavorful--seasonings blend nicely throughout giving it a rich taste. Will definitely make again.

This was a great recipe!! My mom said it was the best chili she had ever had! I was so proud. She said it was better than my grandmother's! This may have changed my life, I mean my mom finally acknowledged my cooking skills!
