I found it hard to get all of the popcorn coated evenly, not to mention the mess that was left on the pans. Next time I will definitely line my pans with parchment paper. The taste was delicious despite the spotting coating.

Omigosh! This is so delicious I could not stop eating it. You will never eat caramel corn from a box again. It is simple yet time-consuming. I used butter as I never buy margerine and it was perfect. Three bags of Boyscout butter light popcorn made the perfect amount. I followed a previous reviewer's advice and used my roasting pan. Worked beautifully. Rather than pouring it out on the counter, I left in the pan and stirred it every few minutes while it cooled - no problems. Thanks for the great recipe!

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars! It is so easy and turns out perfectly every time. I found this recipe about 3 years ago when my husband said he felt like caramel corn for a movie. I stay far away from corn syrup, but I keep a bottle on hand now, hidden, just for this. I had a hard time getting enough to last to give away for Christmas. It is a keeper! No changes (except I leave out peanuts when it is for my DH and kids since DD is allergic).

Perfection. I omitted the peanuts, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. One cup of popcorn air-popped will be enough for a whole recipe.

This recipe is wonderful...I made a batch today for New Year's and everyone just gobbled it up! Based on some other reviews, I did add 2 teaspoons of black strap molasses, substituted butter for margarine and reduced the oven temperature to 225 degrees F. Also, 1 1/2 cups of unpopped popcorn does turn out to be 7 quarts (28 cups) once popped. I used a regular lasagna pan and a nonstick roasting pan...the higher sides of the roasting pan worked out much better for stirring and the nonstick surface made it a snap to clean up. I will definitely be making this again and giving it for holiday gifts next year...Thanks!

Wow, this was excellent! I didn't read the review before making, which was a mistake because it would have been so much easier to bake this in a disposable huge roasting pan. I used 2 lasagne pans and struggled to mix it all up. Oh well, I got through it. I didn't have a problem with grainy texture, but I remained patient with my caramel sauce, letting it warm up slowly (yes, it takes a while, but I didn't want to have to do it again) I made one batch with dry roasted nuts and one without. The one with nuts was way better. I'm making this again on the weekend and am going to load it with nuts. Excellent! For the popcorn I used 2 bags of Vic's white popcorn from the grocery store. It was already salted so I omitted the salt in the caramel sauce. Also used butter instead of margarine.

This recipe is a cinch and extremely devine. I made it to fill my baby shower favor bags which contained a neat little saying about "she's going to pop". Everyone loved this and wanted the recipe!!!

Wow, this stuff is amazing. I took the advice of others and used a large throw away roaster pan and sprayed with PAM. I let the sugar get heated slowly before boiling, remember if you constantly stir it you must stop at times to see if you are at the gentle rolling boil, it's easy to stir and not start the time right, then you overcook. This, however was foolproof! We couldn't get enough and it is so easy. Thanks! **Also, I forgot to mention that I cooked at 200 degrees for 45 minutes**UPDATE this is now a staple in our house. My kids love it! We always pop our own corn on the stove first to avoid the icky microwave kind. I have made this for neighbors too and they loved it as well. It always turns out great for me.

I made this (among other goodies) for Christmas presents and it was a hit! Next time I am going to try and mix the nuts in when I pour the carmel over the popcorn - otherwise all of the nuts sink to the bottom of the popcorn making it harder to get a good mix of popcorn and nuts.

This was great! It was easy to make and great to give as gifts. I did over cook it though, had a slight burnt taste. I think I would either lower the baking temp or cooking time to 45 mins...perhaps it's just my oven. But great recipe! Thanks for sharing.

So yummy and easy!!! The only thing I changed was using butter instead of margarine. I used my deepest roasting pan, which made the stirring a lot less messy. This is the perfect goodie to send with Christmas presents! Thank you for sharing!

This is the best caramel popcorn I've tried. Homemade or store-bought. It makes a hard popcorn, not soft, but it melts in your mouth without sticking to your teeth the way some do. My husband loved it so much that we made it twice in one week to hand out on our Christmas goody plates.
