The first time I made this, it tasted burnt, maybe because I cut it in half, without changing the boiling time. Yet, it was still strangely addictive. The second time, I also cut in in half (I used 1 bag of microwave popcorn both times) it tasted better. I never had problems with coating the corn and there was tons of caramel. My advice when you put it in a container, seal and and put in on a high shelf or you may eat it all in one sitting. For relatively easy cleanup, put a lot of butter on the cookie sheet (or whatever you use) and get the pans and dishes in hot water as soon as you're done using them.
