We have made this at least 5 times and it is always perfect-not too sweet, crunchy and so easy!! I scoured my Moms house searching for an old Amish cookbook we used to make caramel corn with no luck-thrilled to have this! I love air popped corn for this recipe. Thanks for sharing!

I have been making this recipe for a LONG time....I use butter as well and never put peanuts in until this year....it was EXCELLENT! To the cook who said this was "grainy" did you leave it in the oven long enough? I have never messed this recipe up...yet! LOL SO....5 BIG stars and MORE!

I tried this with dark corn syrup and dark brown sugar and that was good too. A definite diet-buster.

Fantastic! I'm a lazy baker and I was intimidated by the time involved, among other things. It was much easier than I thought. Not sure if I had 7 quarts of popcorn, but I had enough to cover the bottom of a jelly roll pan and the bottom of a Pyrex 9x13 pan. I basically halved the caramel sauce recipe because I didn't think I had enough popcorn. We like a little less coating. Excellent recipe! And fun to give.

A co-worker made this recipe and it was so tasty I asked for it! I made 28 cups (seven 4-cup containers) of popcorn with my air popper Used one giant disposal roasting pan from the dollar store and threw the entire batch into the one pan. I did lower the temp to 200 degrees as my oven cooks very hot and cooked for the full hour Next time I will make a little more caramel or use less popcorn so its more evenly coated It was fantastic! Best Caramel Corn I've ever had! It'll make great Christmas gifts!

Fabulous! Easy to do, tastes awesome, & makes a great gift. I used 2 packages of Newman's Own simply salted popcorn and omitted the salt from the recipe. I also used butter rather then margarine.

This is so addictive! Very easy to make. The amount of topping is perfect for the amount of popcorn. Too often you are left with plain kernels, but this was not the case with this recipe.

This is very yummy! I made it in my huge roasting pan, buttering the sides first. The clean up is easy and the results are no less than addictive! YUMMY! I make this every year at Christmas time for holiday gifts.

I must have done something wrong! My "caramel", after baking on the popcorn is somewhat grainy and it didn't coat the popcorn as I anticipated. I either cooked it too long in the pan or I messed up when I added the vanilla and baking soda to it (I added the vanilla and stirred, then the baking soda and stirred). Still tastes great though! Will definitely try it again soon.

I have done this popcorn a few different ways. I have to say, I read a previous review stating to use a paper bag to stir the caramel and popcorn together, and this was by far the worst way to get the popcorn covered! It covered the bag more than the popcorn. That was highly disappointing. Other than that, it tastes excellent. I will continue to do it by just pouring the caramel over the popcorn on the baking sheets. Yummy : )
