Great recipe. I'm only giving 4 stars because I amended the recipe by adding chicken seasoning and season salt to the flour mixture. Also, I added 2 tbsp of honey to the mustard mixture and used dijon mustard, instead of regular mustard. I fried the chicken briefly to get a nice golden brown crust (15 minute), put the chicken in a baking pan and drizzled it with honey mustard dipping sauce found on this site and baked it for and additional 15-20 minutes. Wonderful, Wonderful fried chicken!!!... rich in flavor and very moist.

While I liked the idea of the flavors in this recipe, I had a terrible time with the recipe as it was written. When I read this, in the back of my mind I thought "what's there to hold the coating on in the fryer" trusting, I followed the recipe and wound up with a big batch of NAKED FRIED CHICKEN And a fryer FULL OF MUSTARD CHICKEN FRITTERS! If I were to try this again, I would add some mustard powder to egg for the base coating. If you follow this recipe you will understand. That's why it gets two stars.

One of the best recipes I've found. It's now on my favorites list. I did mine in a heavy iron skillet came out perfect. Highly recommend as a family meal.

Very very good. We never do fried wings in this house without making them "Buffalo". However, these were very tasty and easy to make. Next time I may substitute dijon for the yellow mustard, or partially perhaps. Nobody else in the house had a problem with the way they are, but I'm not a huge yellow mustard fan, and I could easily taste it coming through. That said, it did indeed make for a tangy marinade that held the flour very well when deep fried. Thanks for a great recipe!

Don't get me wrong, I thought this was good; just alot of work for a lil' piece of chicken. I'll probably try it on chicken breasts.

I added about two dashes of cayenne pepper, dried mustard and refrigerated the chicken once fully coated with seasoning, mustard and flour for 90 minutes in the fridge (this made it extra crispy) and the wings were absolutely delicious, moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. I made the mistake of letting my friend try one before I completely finished cooking dinner and it was very hard to make him wait until I was finished the main dish!

My name is Aariannah and i came up with this recipe. I would just like to let everyone who has tried or would like to try this recipe that i put a bit more seasoning on the chicken for more flavor but you can season to your liking.

excellent chicken everyone in the family loved it and we have 6 kids. I loved the fact that you take the skin off the chicken but no one noticed.

I'd like to say good job to Aarianah for conjuring up this recipe. Although it was a bold move it actually tasted O.K.! Sometimes fried chicken becomes "Oh So boring" however different strokes for different folks! I enjoyed it! Therefore it is now in my recipe box! Chef-Of-The-Future..

Very good. I skipped the MSG and added dry mustard and cayenne to the flour mixture. Turned out great, thanks!

I finally tried this after sitting in my recipe box for over a year. It was wonderful! I added dry mustard to enhance the mustard flavor but other than that i prepared recipe as is and I've added it to our regular rotation.

This is a keeper. I followed the recipe but added A LOT more seasoning before putting in the flour. I put all the wings in a tray and smothered with various seasonings, including garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, pepper and adobo. I also used a spanish seasoning called sazon goya (about 3 packets) and made 15 large wings. This recipe is incredible. I added some adobo to the flour and used spicy brown mustard. YUMMY. I do not fry often but I can see making this once a month as a fried treat!

This recipe is smokin'! I was skeptical at first with adding the mustard, but found it enhanced the flavor of my chicken. Normally I use hot sauce with my seasonings to marinate for an hour or so before frying. Next time I will use both mustard and hot sauce plus seasonings.

I liked this recipe! I recently did a variation -- I left out the flour, used fresh garlic (pounded to a fine paste), fried it, and added a little water to make sauce. Yum!
