just made these, fresh & frozen.I freeze them to send to my son away at school, so all he has to do is choose how many he wants and go from freezer to oven, no fuss.I always do a trial run on the frozen dough so I know what they will come out like for him.they came out perfect both ways.I didn't have shortening so I Used all butter & they came out perfect, texture & flavor & look were all perfect. my dough was a bit sticky but I used a small scooper to dump them in the cinnamon mixture & got through it. this is my new recipe (sorry better homes & garden).
