These are excellent! My son loves snickerdoodles, and he gave a big thumbs-up to these.

I just finished making these and they turned out wonderful! I followed the recipe exactly and I think the one thing I would change is that I would cook them one minute less than the recipe states. It might just be my oven, but I think they were more crispy than chewy and my hubbie said they'd be perfect if they were just a bit more chewy.

Some of the best cookies ever! I like mine a bit undercooked so I didn't cook them the full time

These are amazing! I made them this morning and ate three right out of the oven! I took other reviewers suggestions and baked for exactly 8 minutes at 375 degrees. Perfection!

Delicious! They stay soft, even days later. 8 minutes was the perfect bake time for cookies exactly 1 tbsp. I had to chill each ball in the freezer for a few minutes before rolling them in sugar as the dough is quite soft. No biggie, though. Everyone loves these. Be careful not to overbake, because they get crispy fast if left too long! Thanks for an awesome recipe. :D

Probably the best snickerdoodle recipe I've ever made as far as how they look. I've made them twice. First time they tasted perfect, second time a little lacking in flavor, but still good. Probably something I did! Great recipe!

This was a GREAT recipe! My 12 year old made these and I took them to work. Everyone raved about how great they were. One change that we made is putting a little nutmeg in the cinnamon and sugar that you roll the dough in. We also used a little more of that then the recipe called for.

A very good snickerdoodle. My snickerdoodle recipes have always turned out a flat cookie, but not this one. I like the flavor of more cream of tarter than the average snickerdoodle, too. It's a keeper.

The dough is way to sticky to even roll. Maybe I shouldnt have used large eggs? I cant even think of how to make it better. maybe less shortening?

These are fabulous. Crunchy edge and chewy center- just how I like them! I followed the recipe completely and ended up baking mine for 9 minutes. It made 3, 16 cookie batches. I know some people had trouble with their cookies and it was suggested to check your cream of tarter. I will admit, mine was expired but I used it anyways and it was fine! I will always keep this recipe close by!

Okay these were amazing..plain and simple. I didn't change a thing, I baked them for 10 minutes and they were very soft when I took them out, almost too soft. But after cooling for a few minutes they are downright delicious. Excellent recipe!

My friend (who has very little cooking/baking experience) and I made these last night. They were very easy to make and they are so good! We baked our on parchement paper and the sugar/cinnamon coated bottoms turned out wonderful. I followed the other's tips of baking for exactly 8 minutes and letting them sit for exactly 1 minute on the baking sheet before transferring to a cooling rack. We might have made our cookies a little small, since we got 57 out of the batch, but I think they're the pefect size! I definitely plan to make again!

UPDATE: ALTHOUGH STILL YUMMY DAYS LATER, I THINK THESE ARE BEST FRESH OUT OF THE OVEN ("NOTHING" COMAPRES IMHO). I EVEN TRIED SPRITZING WITH H2O BEFORE REHEATING IN THE MICROWAVE AS ONE REVIEWER SUGGESTED.... Oooh! These are SOOOOO good!!! Made A 1/2 batch for my bf & I. B/c I used my 3 T PC scoop, I only had enough dough for 12 cookies (as opposed to 24 sm. ones). I pretty much followed Beth's directions exactly, except for the following: a) I added 1/2 c. of Hershey's mini cinnamon chips to my dough (I was trying to duplicate Noodles & Company's snickerdoodles which have cinnamon chip "chunks" in them), b) I upped the cinnamon-sugar mix. to 2 T sugar / 2 t cinnamon and, for ease, comb. both in a lg. Ziplock bag & gently dipped ea. "formed" cookie ball into the mix. (note: I did not shake as others have advised against doing so...), & c) baked my cookies on parchment lined baking sheets for 11 min. The finished cookies were crispy around the edges & soft in the center. One note: I suggest (as some others have also) to dip only the tops of your cookie dough into the cinn.-sugar mix. My oven was smoking (fire extinguisher please...) b/c the bottoms of some of my cookies were burning! I noticed just in the nick of time, so I was able to salvage all but a few of them. Beth, you've done it again! These are incredible, and, by far the best cookie I've ever made. You ARE the cookie queen (hehe!) :)
