I have lost count of how many batches I've made, and every single cookie was happily devoured by friends, family and coworkers. It never disappoints! The dough was a bit harder to handle when a storm rolled through Seattle recently, but the cookies still turned out perfectly.

Better than my aunt's snickerdoodles, but I'd never tell her! These stay super soft!

I substituted olive oil for the butter b/c my hubby can't eat dairy. They were fantastic! Between my 4 boys and husband they were gone within a few hours. I will def make these again.

Best Snickerdoodles EVER!!!!!! I read someone elses review that said they used white vinegar instead of cream of tarter, which I was out of so I made this recipe specifically. Then I discovered I also only had 1 of the 2 tsp. needed and substituted maple syrup for the extra tsp. My husband added a pinch of nutmeg to the sugar/cinn. roll at the end, and not only did they get voted best cookie at his company party, my mom in law loved them so much she wanted the recipe and insists on doing it complete with substitutions.

VERY tasty. Although the cooking time for mine was more in the 12-15min range. I did end up baking them a little too long (about 17mins) so they came out crunchy, but they still tasted fantastic and the cookie itself was really light. I still have half of the cookie dough left that I froze and plan to fix probably tomorrow. :)

Turned out perfect. Most snickerdoodle recipes seem to use all shortening; I think using 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening does make the difference in this recipe. These were nice and soft and so easy to make.

These cookies are wonderful. I carefully read other memebers reviews and the only change I made was added 1 teas. baking powder along with the baking soda and cream of tarter. They came out fluffy and soft. Very yummy!

My first time making snickerdoodles and they were fabulous! I substituted the 4 tsp. of white vinegar for the 2 tsp. cream of tartar and they came out great. I was worried about tasting vinegar in them, but that's not the case at all. I baked these for 8 minutes and they were a perfect consistency. I'm doubling these up for a Halloween party this week. Thanks for sharing!

They are tasty but flat... but I didn't think that was a big deal. I definitely agree that you should watch these carefully as to not overcook them. I had to bake them for about 9 minutes before pulling them out.

These were absolutely delicious! My husband fell in love with me all over again when he took his first bite! However, I didn't really like the tangy aftertaste that I guess is from the cream of tartar and maybe not letting the cookies cook quite long enough- I wanted them to be a bit chewy (which is what my husband loved about them).

Wow...these are so yummy!! They came out perfectly crisp on the outside and so deliciously soft on the inside. These didn't crackle as well as other snicker doodle recipes I've used, but the taste is phenomenal!

These were good and simple to make. Used all margarine because that's all I had. Used more sugar and cinnamon and took the very helpful advice of putting it in a sandwich bag to roll the balls in. I'm not a big fan of the cream of tartar taste in it so will definitely sub lemon juice. It wasn't flat, dry, or crunchy at all. The only thing that bothered me was that I couldn't get it to crackle.
