This is a good recipe, if a bit time consuming to shape the rolls. I have made it with all whole wheat flour, and all multigrain flour, but I think you need to stick with at least half white flour to make them fluffy and not too dense.

look at the prep/cook/ready in times at the top of this recipe. They are so wrong! I had a "roll-less" thanksgiving because i started this an hour before my turkey was done :( as for the taste? I never found out...

I just took these rolls out of the oven and they look and smell fantastic! The dough was wonderfully easy to work with and so soft. I halved the recipe with no problems. Half the recipe made a whole pie plate-sized pan of rolls. I used melted butter instead of shortening simply because I don't keep shortening around the house but other than that followed the recipe exactly. This is my new dinner roll recipe!

I really liked these rolls. Only thing I changed was the amount of sugar. Since my family doesn't like sweet dinner rolls I reduced the sugar to 1/8 cup and they turned out perfect. Thanks!

When these were baking in the oven I think they had the best aroma of anything I have ever baked and they did not disappoint at all. The combination of these rolls and Supreme Apple Butter could not have been better. Everyone was raving about them at our Thanksgiving. I used an instant read thermometer to ensure the correct temperature for the water and milk. Followed the recipe to a T and they turned out wonderful.

Best rolls I have ever tasted!! These were delicious! I was so glad I had extras. Many people have wanted this recipe from me! I had a little extra dough so I made it into a tiny pizza and it was really good also! With the rolls I only had to bake them for about 10 min and they popped out perfect! Thanks a million :)

I wish I could give these a 4 1/2. They are great. I have never made rolls before and they are BEAUTIFUL. I Cut the recipe in 1/2. I made 12 rolls and with the rest of the balls I put them in a small baking dish and made a very pretty pull-apart loaf. Next time I will add a bit more sugar, to sweeten it up the tiniest bit, also I will cook till JUST lite brown, so the bottom does not get to dark & hard. Great recipe, great for beginers THANK YOU.
