This was beautiful and very tasty. I added some sweet onion to the layers for personal taste and shaved some parmigiano-reggiano. It was great, pefect side for a summer side.

This recipe is fantastic, even if you don't have squash, fresh basil, and have to substitute white vinegar for lemon juice, but that's only in emergency situations when I can't get anyone to run to the grocery store for me. Seriously good salad or side dish.

This recipe is so easy and delicious and decorates the table nicely. You can make it from the night before or early in the morning and let it sit and let the flavors soak in. I difinitely recommend this salad for entertaining.

Great recipe! The vegetables are so refreshing. I love how the basil adds a little sweetness of flavor. I can't wait to experiment with more vegetables!

I thought this was a really good recipe and would probably consider using a little more fresh basil next time and possibly add mushrooms to it as well

My family loves tomato and cucumber salad with vinegar dressing. I hadn’t thought about adding summer squash to it before, and liked that idea. But we did not care for the flavors of the dressing in this salad. I’ll go back to the basic vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper dressing like in Tomato and Pepper Salad on this site. The layering of this salad does make it very appealing to the eye though.

We weren't too thrilled with this one, and I'm not entirely sure why. The dressing is mild. I did add more basil, but I am thinking maybe our problem is what the salad consists of. I don't think we are the biggest fans of cucumber salad, and apparently not cucumber and tomato salad (didn't have zucchini). If you like this combo, though, give it a chance, as the dressing is nice (don't make the full amount though!) and it is pretty. Thanks for the recipe!

Very good. A bit heavy on the dressing but I guess I should have just done it to taste instead of just pouring the entire bottle of dressing on. I had quite a few guests last night and most of them seemed to enjoy this salad. I will say that I used my mandalin slicer (on thick) to make cutting easier and more uniform in size.
