This had a really good taste. A reviewer said it tasted like P.F. Changs. I have never eaten there, but I believe now that all stir-fry and many meats are also deep fried at restaurants like this dish. I see where all of the oil comes from now! I was intrigued by the method and wanted to try it once. I used low-sodium soy sauce but it still does call for a lot more than really is healthy in the dish along with the sugar. I also thought it was rather time consuming for the 4 servings the recipe makes. My suggestion is to buy pre-cut meat and use a small deep fryer to get the correct temperature with clean oil. Or, possibly a wok is better, because I couldn't quite get the oil consistent in temperature and I had some beyond normal oil splashing for some reason. I also had quite a lot of clean-up with dishes. However, though, if sodium/cholesterol etc. and time are not a concern, and you want a restaurant quality Mongolian beef with onions, this dish will not dissapoint!
