I was overjoyed to find this recipe! My mom used to make these cookies, but I'd since lost the recipe. When I did a search for "chocolate chip cookies" and "vanilla pudding" and found this, I knew the universe was looking out for me! I reduce the amount of flour slightly, as I thought the cookies came out a little dry when I made them straight from the directions. But overall, these are great cookies! I like to change up the kind of pudding I use in them to make fudge cookies, or butterscotch pudding with butterscotch chips... it's really easy to make many different variations, and they always go quickly!

I give them 3 stars because my office mates gobbled them up in no time. But personally I thought they were too cakey.

The ONLY chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe I will EVER use again! These are the BEST cookies! They are so soft and moist I can't even believe it! I did not alter the recipe at all and they were just PERFECT! The pudding is a fantastic "secret" ingredient!!!

Fabulous! If anything could be changed, the amount of chocolate chips could be cut down some. But since I love lots of chocolate in my cookies, 2 cups was perfect!

Well, these cookies I have to say were the best chocolate chip cookies Ive ever had/made. I took them to my church's prayer meeting, and they all loved them. I did take the advice of the viewers and added 1/4 tsp of salt, and I used NESTLE semi-sweet chocolate chunks instead of chips. Man they were AWESOME. Definitely cook them for 10 mins, and they are so soft!!!Update: Ive made these quite a few times, and I tried it with just one stick of butter, and, they are still just as good, and deliciously soft without all the fat!

I've been making these for a while. EVERYONE LOVES THEM! They just rave about how wonderful and soft they are. My husband hates crunchy cookies, so these are wonderful. I have tried different pudding mixes in the batter, and they are all wonderful. Highly recommend these cookies!

These were really good and I like the texture a lot. I agree with previous reviews that they need a little salt to counteract the sweetness. They seemed a little too sweet and I am a total sweets lover. I will probably add a 1/2 teaspoon of salt next time and see if that helps.

I just brought these into work - it's 10am and they're already disappearing! I made two batches: one with vanilla pudding mix and chocolate chunks r/th chocolate chips (I followed others' advice and used the whole bag). The second batch I made with Devil's Food pudding mix and white chocolate chips. WOW! Absolutely amazing. One thing I might change next time: I think I'd limit the white chocolate chips to 2 cups in the devil's food batch - using the whole bag is excessively sweet, unless you're a really big white chocolate enthusiast. I can't wait to try some new variations.
