The only way to make choco chip cookies. Just excellent. I added 1/4 teas of salt - not sure if it was needed. Used instant white chocolate pudding mix. Very good.

My mother-in-law makes cookies very similer to these. she cut the white sugar to 1/2 cup and the same with the brown sugar. she also uses 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teas. Almond Extract. We camp out alot and they are the first request by the kids. They call them Grandma Smetzer Cookies.

I made these cookies and YUMMY!! the one change that I made is chocolate pudding mix, if you love chocolate you will love these and reduce baking time by a couple of minutes and now i am going to try them with banana pugging mix, this ought to be very interesting, my mouth is watering can't wait!

I have been making chocolate chip cookies for years - is there any better cookie? :) I normally just grab a bag of chocolate chips and follow the recipe, but this time I wanted to try something different. I found these and I will never make another type of chocolate chip cookie ever again! I cooked the cookies until the edges were just browned and they are sooooo moist! I used french vanilla pudding mix this time, but the next time I will try another flavor of pudding mix. GOOD STUFF!!!!

Great cookies. I use half milk chocalate chip and half semi sweet. I also added heath bar crumbles on top of cookies before I added them in the oven.

This recipe is AWESOME! I made it exactly how the recipe said. I thought something was going to be wrong cause when I was stirring it it looked a little runny. I was anxious to see how they would come out and they came out GREAT! My dad made me make another batch because he loved them so much! They were gone with in an hour of making them. I made mine with chocolate pudding and chocolate chips. I am going to be making another batch with vanilla pudding and Ghiradelhi chocolate chips. I am making these for my family for Christmas. If I could give this recipe more stars I would give it a thousand and one for how yummy these are! Like other people said mix it up! That's the best advice!

These turned out really good. The only variation that I made was to add nuts and mixed chocolate chips: toasted pecans bits - about 1 cup of those and a mixture of chips that I had in the freezer - milk, semi sweet, and mini semi sweet. The cookies cooked nicely and turned out fine. The consistency of the cookie is very tender and not chewy. I had no problems with the texture or taste. My husband said they were a bit sweet but he enjoyed them and said they were good, too. They were easy to make and tasty. I will make again.

These cookies are evil. I can't get them into a container because they're all gone. I added a 1/2 tsp of dark rum (Pyrat is my choice) and use banana pudding. You can have the worst demeanor in the world but pass out one of these and everyone thinks you rock.

My family and I think this is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe. My husband grew up with his mom making Nestle Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookies his whole life and only liked those. But this is his new favorite. You might think this is weird, but I love the taste of the cookie so much, I make half of them without chocolate chips. My oldest son and I prefer them that way. They are awesome!!!! I sort of agreed with a review that said that it tasted sort of "instant" because of the instant pudding. So, I followed someone elses idea to use cheesecake flavored pudding and they are even better. They don't taste "instant" anymore. Great cookies!!!!

I made 8 dozen of these last night. I was hoping the pudding would make them extra soft and chewy, but was disappointed in the sweet, "instant" taste that it added to the dough and didn't really find them softer than any other chocolate chip recipe I've tried. They were just all right but nothing special. DH wasn't a big fan. Now I've got to find another recipe to try for my cookie exchange tomorrow night. :)

In my years of baking, I have never baked chocolate chip cookies. After a lot of begging from my kids, I finally tried the recipe on the back of the Toll House choclate chip bag. The cookies tasted great when they were fresh out of the oven but after they have cooled off, they were HARD and tasted stale to me. The kids would microwave them for a few seconds and they would taste great again. I followed the recipe exactly twice. I wasn't going to use it again because I didn't know how to fix it. Then I saw this recipe with the excellent reviews so I tried it. This recipe is excellent and the secret is the vanilla pudding mix. I used my little cookie scoop and the dough did not spread. I did the same for the Toll House and the cookies spread and flatten out. So, I flatten the cookies out a bit by using a spoon. The dough is very easy to handle. I only used 1-1/2 cups of chocolate chips and added 1 cup of chopped walnuts. Family tasted them and prefer this recipe over Toll House. The cookies stayed soft even after they've cooled off.
