Banana Nut and Ginger Bread

Rich and spicy, this bread is wonderfully laced with cinnamon, cardamom, allspice, cloves and fresh ginger. Chopped dates and dark beer add even more complexity. The recipe yields two intense loaves.

Dee's Date and Nut Bread

My mother used to make this recipe in a long loaf pan which I don't believe they make any more. Fortunately, I have her pan and whenever I make this it sure brings back such happy memories.

This is another great holiday bread to make that belonged to my mother. She sometimes served this one, and it is a very old recipe. This bread is good the first day, but better the second. You may use dates instead of raisins if you wish.
