mine didnt turn out as dark as the one in this picture and i followed the recipe exactly. mine turned out more of a latte colour

i agree the cake is moist but using vegetable oil to get the moistness isnt really being moist at all!! please look up Dark Chocolate Cake I for a much much better recipe

Pretty good cake, great frosting. Next time, I'll make it in a larger, rectangular pan so that the cake is less deep and has more frosting-to-cake than as directed. A nice, homey, not-fancy cake.

I just made this cake today for my brother's birthday. It was absolutely delicious...wouldn't change a thing. The frosting made with coffee and butter borders on sinful! Keep in mind that this recipe serves 9 so you may want to double it if you're serving more people.

I used this at my Dad's birthday party, and loved it! Everyone wanted the recipe, and even though there was more than enough for seconds (I made a double batch) there were no leftovers!

I rarely make cake from scratch, but this one is worth making. I did not make the frosting, but the cake turns out moist, light cake.

I didn't make the cake but I made the frosting for another cake because of a previous review. Although I followed the recipe exactly (except doubling it), my frosting was thin and runny - when I frosted the cake, the frosting ran off onto the plate, and the top layer of cake slid off the bottom layer onto the countertop. Good taste, though.

The chocolate cake was moist, but there was a crack on my cake and i followed the instructions carefully.But overall it was nice. =)

Like many others, i always wanted to bake the perfect moist chocolate cake. I stumbled upon this receipe and gave it a shot. I must say, i'm glad i did it, normally i don't try internet recipes before of lack of authenticity, but im so happy that i didn't miss out this golden oppertunity. We all loved it, it was ummm ummm, the yummiest chocolate cake i've baked and i've baked quite some of 'em. Just wanted to say, Thank you for sharing this remarkable recipe with us :) It made me look good :) Stay beautiful!

I've baked this cake several times and it worked out great every time I made it. Especcially the frosting works very well. And it feels like it's a lighter version of regular chocolate cake, it is not really sweet.
