For me this is a very moist bread which is the way we like it. I cut back on the amount of coffee (that may be why some reviewers felt it was bitter) because instant coffee is very potent.

This recipe sounded delicious, however the consistency when i mixed the wet and dry ingredients together was very chunky and grainy even after i sifted the dry ingredients and added extra wet ingredients. When I reread the instructions that said to pour the batter into the loaf pan, I knew that the batter that I had was not going to turn out. I also tasted the raw batter and it was very bitter.

This was excellent! I can't imagine a more delicious combination of chocolate & coffee. I used coarsely chopped walnuts because I had those on hand, but other than that followed the recipe exactly. The texture & taste are wonderful. Like many breads like this, it is better if left to sit wrapped up overnight. I am going to bake several of these to give for St. Valentine's Day goodies.

I'm not sure why this didn't turn out for me. I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out very dry. I had to throw out more than half of it simply because it just crumbled when I tried to slice it. It doesn't really have a great taste to it either...not very sweet. This is the first recipe from this website that I'm disappointed with.

this was very good. I used half plain yogurt and half sour cream, 3 Tbs coffee granules and 3/4 cup sugar. Very moist.

I baked this to take on vacation to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Unfortunately, just as the oven timer rang, I was called out on an emergency. The bread was not quite done, so I turned the oven off and left. The loaf was done when I returned, but was a bit dry. It would have been great had the baking conditions been right. I added about a cup of dried cranberries. I also used half white flour and half whole wheat. I'll make this again, but will add more of the instant coffee granules for a more intense coffee flavor. I also omitted nuts, because one person in the house party has a nut allergy. All in all, a very good quick bread recipe. Thanks!
