These are the best brownies ever. I always add some chocolate chips to my boxed brownies, so I did the same on this one, just 1/4 bag of semi-sweet choc chips. The rest of the recipe was made exactly like it said. What I loved about these, is the top was a little crisp & the choc chips had settled on the bottom so the bottom was VERY moist. These were so amazing that I can't make them too often, I want to eat the whole pan & so do my kids & their friends! The only other thing I did, was double the recipe as others had said & placed it in a 9X13 pan & cooked for about 35 minutes on same degree! YUMM!

These brownies were, as people said, DELICIOUS! I don't like brownies to be too rich and strong in chocolate flavor, so I slightly cut back on the cocoa powder. After reading some of the comments, I substituted melted butter instead of oil. They came out a little too buttery and moist for my taste. Next time I will make exactly as the recipe calls for. Everyone should try these, they are not too chocolatey at all, but they are completely moist and delicious!

I increased the recipe by 50% and thought the butter content was a tad much. Right! Like there could be to much butter? Very nice, rich so use big chunks of walnuts to break it up.

I am of the opinion that "home-cooked" and "from scratch" baking recipes should be better than anything from a box. These were good, but just shy of amazing. In all honesty you can find a better brownie from a Ghiradelli box (which sets a fairly high standard). Having said that... the texture was nice, they are chocolate, and they are basic enough that they lend themselves to creativity. In short: Not bad, not bad at all. *edit* I made this again with the melted butter, added semisweet chocolate chips to the mix, and then put a choclate glaze (3 tbsp butter, 3/4th C choco chip, 1 tbsp dark corn syrup, 1/4th tsp vanilla, all melted and mixed together and poured evenly on top) and it was MAGNIFICENT. The batch I made when I reviewed it the first time (with the the recipe as is) wasnt' good. With the slight modifications (and the butter made a HUGE difference) they didn't even get a chance to cool before they were gone. Brother, Dad, and Husband all commented on the tremdous difference there was from the first batch.

I used a melted stick of margerine and did a mixture of half brown/half white sugar. I kept everything else the same. I omitted the nuts because my husband isn't a nutty brownie fan, though I think it would be better with. This makes a small 8x8 pan of brownies. It only took me five minutes to throw this together, which was appealing enough on it's own. Enough for a midnight snack for my husband. These turned out really good. Not as good as Brooke's Bombshell Brownies, imo, but my husband liked them. Next time, I'd like to try them with peanut butter chips or even with a peanut butter swirl. These would be great for a bake sale. I'd make them again.

These brownies are absolutely sinful they are so good! I doubled the recipe and baked in a 9x13 inch glass pan for 25 minutes. I also used butter flavored crisco instead of the butter and dark chocolate cocoa. They came out fudge like and delicious! The only problem with these is that everyone loves them so they never last for more than an hour or so after they come out of the oven. I frosted them and got rave reviews from everybody. This is now "the" brownie recipe at our house. Oh, don't bake these if you are dieting, they are irresistable and I usually have excellent will power. You can't eat just one of these!

Yum. These aren't the richest/chocolately-est brownies in the world, but they have a GREAT texture. I made them with the butter and added just a bit of oil as well.

Yes, these are the best. Same recipe as Hershey's "Best Brownies" and I've been making them for years. I use margarine and be sure not to overbake them so they will be nice and chewy.

I made these with brown flour and brown sugar (not that they are perfectly healthy then, but any little bit helps, right?).

This recipe was fine but not quite what I was expecting. The initial taste was fine, but the brownies left a not so pleasant aftertaste. I followed the advice of other reviewers and used butter. I will try the recipe one more time using the oil and see if that makes a difference.

I made these and 'MMMMM... Brownies' from this site so I could compare the two - personally, I liked the other ones much better. These were less moist, and not very flavorful. If you like chewy brownies then you will probably like this recipe, but I preferred the moister ones. My dad preferred this recipe so it's worth a shot. I would recommend adding chocolate chips, though, for more chocolatey flavor. :)

I was looking for a last minute recipe that required only the ingredients I had on hand and did not require butter or milk (allergies). Followed recipe exactly (no nuts). Yummy and chewy, but took about 30-35 minutes to cook. Next time will add some chocolate chips. Thanks for a great "in a pinch" recipe!

I have made these about 5 times in the last month, for different events, and everytime it's a huge hit! The last time I made them they only lasted 2 hours. I live in South Africa so I don't use nut's (they're pretty expensive). But I do tripple the recipe and they come out as these huge, clumpy, chewy and crunchy and sooooo satisfying brownies. They are so easy to make too, I either add a half a cup extra of cocoa or 2 teaspoons of instant coffee, it gives it a deeper flavour, I also Tried it with coffee and cinnamon and decreased the cocoa a bit, it's a whole new recipe but also mmmmmmmmmm, GOOD!

Incredible. This is my new brownie recipe. I added some chocolate chips, and the short baking time makes the chocolate chips stay together and I am eating one now and I shouldn't go get another one buuut I probably will.
