Wow! Every recipe for brownies i have tried is awful, but this is a really good recipe. The brownies were very moist and chewy. I added 1 tsp. cinnamon and a pinch of cloves and nutmeg. It really brings out the chocolate flavor. I poured the batter into the pan and topped it with chopped pecans, then patted it down lightly with a fork, and baked it for about 15 min. Awesome recipe! Kudos!!!!!

Too cake-like and hardly any chocolate/fudge flavor at all. You can really taste the butter if you used 1/2 cup of butter instead of oil. 1/2 cup of chocolate chips gave it more flavor, in my opinion. These were OK but I don't think I'll make the again.

These brownies were sooooo simple to make and I jazzed it up just a bit with about a 1/4 c. of choc. chips :) My kids loved them just as much as I did :P

This is the best "from scratch" brownie recipe I've ever made. They were perfectly moist, and just the right richness. The only time I've ever been able to get brownies this good is when I make them from a box mix! I'll definitely be using this recipe again and again.

I am eating some (again!) right now. Delish! I used butter, no oil, I added semi-sweet choc chips and kept the rest of the recipe intact. Sinful I tell ya! :P

This is truely the BEST brownie recipe. Once they were out of the oven they disappeared very quickly. My whole family agrees with me. I used the butter instead of the vegetable oil. 5 stars! Thanks for the recipe!

I increased the cocoa powder to 1/2 cup and added 1/3 cup chocolate chips. Then I just whipped up a quick icing with powdered sugar, cocoa powder, butter, vanilla, and a little milk. Really moist and fudgy, these were excellent!

Very good. It's a moist, fudgy brownie, a little wet. I would bake this in a 8x8 pan instead of a 9x9. I followed the recipe the brownie was too thin. Next time I'll use the smaller pan for a thicker brownie, but bake time will need to increase by 10 min.

I make these several times a month, using Smart Balance butter instead of oil, dark cocoa, and sea salt! I don't like sharing these, can eat the whole 8x8 pan in 2 days. Absolutely delicious, forget boxed brownies

This recipe is great! I used a 9 x 13 pan and used a double portion as recommended by other reviewers. I also used butter instead of vegetable oil. One thing I do recommend is to sift the flour and after mixing the batter for a while, mix it with a hand mixer as well. Also, for a double portion, I added 1/4 cup of milk and a few chopped walnuts and it turned out just perfect!! Adding milk gives it a somewhat different taste that is really really good. Do try that!!

I followed the recipe exactly to give it an appropriate review, as apposed to those who change it then blame the original poster of the recipe. This is FANTASTIC! It's got a crunchy top, nice thick cake like bottom and the center is soft and fudge like. It's really perfect, only thing I would change is upping the coca powder to 1/2 c over 1/3 c for a richer chocolate flavor, and that is just preference, this recipe is perfect as is! I have already emailed it to friends and family who are chocolate lovers as well.

Wow!!! I just made these 2nite. My good friend came over for drinks and i thought i would try it. It did not disapoint us. I mixed in some semisweet chips and put cashews on the top. Delish with a great consistancy. Oh... i used an 8x8 dish and increased cooking time by 10 min. Perfect. Thanks.
