Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  2. In a large skillet saute onions in olive oil over medium heat. Add the ham and cook until slightly crispy, 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Add the peas and saute for 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook pasta according to directions.
  5. Drain the pasta and toss with sauce and cheese.

The proportions in this recipe are off. 4 tablespoons of olive oil!? I used 2, and still the sauce was rather greasy. Additionally, the tomatoes must be seeded, or the sauce will be far too runny. I ended up running it through a strainer. Still, the effort was minimal and the result was alright. I will likely make this again, with these changes.

I've made this twice. It's a bit bland, which makes it great for kids. To spice it up just a bit the second time around, I added garlic to the sauté onions and red pepper flakes. It was delicious!
