Mini Shrimp Rolls Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 1)

These were very good. I did add some fresh grated ginger. I was a little bit skeptical of baking them instead of frying them; I brushed them with olive oil and put them in the oven. They turned out very good and were good left over the next day. I don't really like left over deep fried food, it's kind of soggy the next day. As far as the time it took to roll them, well... that’s what it takes to make homemade spring or egg rolls. I will be making these many more times. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

The recipe looked good on paper, and certainly the finished product looked good too. Unfortunately, while I was really looking forward to these and had a blast making them, I ended up being disappointed. Even though I used onion and chive cream cheese and added extra garlic and soy sauce they were sorely lacking in flavor. Great ingredients that just didn't deliver in the end. Hubs thought they'd really benefit by some sort of dipping sauce, a ginger sauce for example, but I believe they should have stood on their own. Also, while I concede there may be a health benefit to baking these rather than deep frying, the baking method wasn't nearly as good. Given how rarely I eat fried food of any kind, I'd just as soon treat myself to it here - but only if I can figure out a way to bump up the flavor.

I agree with the other reviewer that these were a little on the bland side and that using crab instead of shrimp would probably be better. Also, it is very time consuming to wrap each roll; plan lots of extra time to prepare these.

I wasn't crazy about these, but my husband ate so many he got sick!! That's the only reason I'm giving it a 4. I thought they were a little bland, but I think substituting crab for the shrimp would make them a higher rating for me.

Very tasty. Rolling takes a long time, but they were worth it. Next time I think we'll add more cabbage.
