I have used this for years. If you are a connoisseur of mincemeat, you will be able to tell this is a good recipe while you are cooking it, and you add the spices to the fruit, and it magically changes to that wonderful aroma of....mincemeat! If you want to, you can omit the meat in this recipe. I prefer peach or apricot brandy for this recipe. If desired you can use half beef and half pork rather than all pork.

Never knew there was real meat in mincemeat did you? There 's ground beef, raisins, apples, brandy, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lots and lots of sugar. This recipe yields 8 pints of filling and freezes well.

A friend gave me this recipe for mincemeat many years ago. It is so good that even those who do not care for mincemeat pie likes it. If preferred, use molasses instead of sorghum. Also, apricot juice can be substituted for the pineapple juice.

Apples, oranges, lemons, brown sugar, raisins, oodles of spices and green tomatoes combine to make an incredibly flavorful concoction. Everything is simmered for hours on the stove before they are put into jars and sealed. Makes 30 pints of perfect stocking stuffers.

A medley of apples, raisins, orange zest, apple and orange juices are simmered in this family version of mincemeat. Make the filling in advance and refrigerate until ready to use, or bake immediately in a double-crust pie. If desired, stir 1 to 2 tablespoons of brandy into the filling to enrich the flavors.
