1 1/2 pounds
hot Italian sausage
green bell pepper, chopped
snipped fresh parsley
fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 (28 ounce) can
whole peeled tomatoes with juice
dry white wine
4 (6.5 ounce) cans
minced clams, drained with juice reserved
I did this stovetop with turkey italian sausage. Was hearty and had good flavor. Tempted to try it with a red wine next time.
I made this on the stovetop. The only thing I changed was.....I steamed 6 dozen Mahogany clams instead of using canned clams. ( strain the broth from steaming the clams through cheese cloth to ensure that there's no sand) and add to soup instead of the clam juice mentioned. THIS WAS FABULOUS!!!!!!
