I'm just rating the microwave method since I used cajun seasoned pumpkin seeds instead of peanuts- it came out sweet and spicy and SO good!!! I will definitely do again with peanuts! I've had mixed results with candy making, but this is fool proof! Just have to adjust time to your micro wattage, and keep an eye on it THE WHOLE TIME. I did the whole thing in my big pyrex measuring cup, easy to measure and micro in one container, it's easy to watch since it's clear, plus the handle doesn't get hot. My microwave is 1600w... full power, I did sugar + syrup for 3.5 mins, stirred in pumpkin seeds and micro 2.5 mins more, added butter and vanilla micro 2.5 mins, then removed and stirred in baking soda. Took the advice to spread out onto the back side of a buttered cookie sheet and this worked great! Let sit 5 mins, then in frige for 5 more and broke it up. The hardest part about this recipe is not eating it all in one sitting!

This came out a lot darker than the picture but that's probably because I threw everything in all at once except for the baking soda. Opps. Also, didn't have nuts so used a half cup of peanut butter. Tastes good though and my dog likes it too.

Good recipe, however you have to make a few batches to get the temp just right as some microwaves have different levels of cooking. The first batch I made had good flavor, but was WAY too chewy, the second I added time in the cooking process and it came out perfect.

Mine didn't turn out, but I know it was because of my microwave and the humid day. I can see why these are a hit if they do turn out - they are simple and quick. But, it was disappointing to have to throw a batch away.

I've been perfecting my microwave brittle recipe for a year and last night I couldn't find my recipe. I made this recipe and it was the best one yet. I've been heating the sugar, syrup and peanuts from the start and this recipe adds the peanuts later. It makes a huge difference. Thanks so much.

It was like superglue on our teeth, you couldn't chew it. Shouldn't it be cruncy?

I've tried many, and this is exellent! Microwaving makes it easier, and being able to use dry roast peanuts rather than the raw ones means I always have what I need on hand. Thanks! (and my dad the peanut brittle fanatic thanks you!)

This is the best peanut brittle I have ever eaten. I've made it twice and it was PERFECT both times. I did leave out the vanilla and it didn't make any difference.

I agree with others..you have to get the timing just perfect for your microwave! But this is amazing brittle. Easiest thing I've ever made! For easy peel-off, I dump the hot mixture onto an upside down baking sheet. Comes off and breaks up nicely!

This recipe is amazing! Once you figure out the right timing for your microwave, it's easy to make over and over again. For the calorie conscious, I tried it with half sugar and half granulated splenda after I had my heart set on making another batch and discovered that I only had 1/2 c sugar in the house. It works well and I couldn't taste a difference!

I've been making this for years off this site -- I've done it with peanuts, cashews, mixed nuts -- never had a bad batch yet - and Dad just absolutely adores it. Quick, easy, couldn't ask for anything more, thanks for sharing this!

This is a great recipe! And very easy! I had to adjust the cooking time a little and I used mixed nuts rather than peanuts. I'll definitely make this again!

1st time ever making peanut brittle! it was easy and kind of fun! I TRIED to balance out the amount of sugar by also using soy beans and edamame beans with the peanuts. It was multi-colored: light brown, toasted brown, green and toasty and it was delicious!

I have been using this recipe for 2 years now and always get asked for the recipe. My microwave is 1800 watts and I cook for the full 7 minutes, but reduce the power to 70%, then another 3 minutes at 70% and it always comes out perfectly!
