Wonderful!! And so easy!! I've never made caramel corn before it and it turned out prefect. 2 3oz bags of popcorn is just a little bit more than 4 quarts. Remember to remove unpopped kernals so you don't have to worry about them while you are enjoying it! Everyone at my party loved it and ate it all up. Even my husband who doesn't like caramel corn loved it! An idea to kick it up a notch-add chocolate covered almonds!

This is awesome! I cooked the caramel for 3 40 second intervals for the first 2 minutes stirring in between and than 2 1minute interval and it came out wonderful. Even my husband who doesn't like sweets enjoyed this.

Easy and delicious. I salted the popcorn (popped in a little oil on the stove) and added sliced almonds and pecan halves. Made an awesome gift for my co-workers in little bags with bows.

I am normally a horrible cook/chef, but even I can do this! I did giant batches last year and put it a decorative bag and gave to co-workers as gift. Easy and cheap. It was so easy. I knocked out 5 large grocery bags full in one night. This year I am scaling back, but will also include the pretzels, which were hugely popular.

My husband loved it and asked me to write down the recipe for him. My only complaint is that it wasn't as crunchy as I had hoped (but good enough), and also a little too buttery - maybe can reduce the butter a little. I took advice of others and didn't cook the caramel too long to avoid burning. I air popped 1/2 cup of corn and it turned out to be 3-1/2 quarts so I think another 1-2 Tbs of corn would do it. So the caramel corn was a little heavy on syrup but that's my fault. I suspect oven-baked recipes might turn out crunchier but for the convenience, I would definitely opt for this method!

The BEST EVER! I'm a huge fan of caramel popcorn. During the Holidays I will drive 40 minutes to a small shop that sells fresh caramel popcorn without the nuts. I hate the nuts! I have tried to replicate this recipe myself many many times, it's hit and miss alot. This recipe was so simple, I will never go back to the oven method. I followed the directions exactly (4 quarts is 16 cups, or two standard sized bags of that Famous'O' man) I didnt have baking soda, so I used a teaspoon of baking powder. It it perfect! Also, our microwave is small, so instead of one large bag we split it and put a bag of popcorn in a lunch sized brown bag (double bagged it) and the second bag, in a second brown bag. You just split the liquid in half, and dispense evenly. Perfect! It set up in less than 10 minutes! What a great, easy, fun snack.

Easily the best, fastest, and easiest caramel corn I've ever made. I threw everything together in a big Pyrex bowl (couldn't find a paper bag) and it worked great, aside from having a big sticky bowl to clean up. My husband wanted something crunchier but I like it a little gooey...and for five minute's work, this was fantastic!

I loved this recipe. My husband said it was like crack...LOL. He could not stop eating it. So much fun, and so easy to make. The brown bag is essential to this recipe. No clean up, just throw that messy thing away! Thank you so much for the recipe. I plan on putting this in my Christmas tins for friends.

Definitely lower the time in the microwave- just 30 seconds two times and it was done! Thanks for sharing such an easy and tasty recipe!

I love this recipe. It is easy, fast and tasty. I have cut the microwave timw down because my first try with this recipe the popcorn was a little burnt. I use about 1 and 1/3 bags of microwave per recipe and I do everything else the same as per the recipe. It is a BIG hit with everyone and this year I am making it for Xmas gift.

Yum! and so easy! I didn't have corn syrup, so I read online to heat in a saucepan 1 cup white sugar, 1/4 cup water, and 1/2 cup honey. I had lots more than the 1/4 cup of syrup I needed, but the whole recipe came out perfect! I will definitely make this again!

I lost this recipe and was glad to find it on Allrecipes! I use Smart Balance 50/50 butter blend, and two bags of microwave light butter-flavored popcorn seems to be the perfect amount. The micro cooking times in this recipe did not work for me, they are too long both for the caramel and the combined brown bag. The caramel bubbled up & over the top before I figured it out! Mixing in half a cup or so of semi-sweet chocolate chips in the brown bag makes the BEST chocolate caramel popcorn!

absolutely delicious! You have to pour the caramel on the popcorn fast, otherwise it will start clumping. However, I think it will melt again in the microwave. I recommend using a big bowl with a lip or handle to help pour, as the bowl gets hot.

Another tip. Spray the inside of your paper bag with Pam cooking spray before adding the popcorn. It helps keep the caramel from sticking to the bag.

Love this. A family member gave me a very similar recipe-- and like another reviewer, it called to SPRAY (with Pam or the like) the inside of the paper bag, before adding the popcorn, i think it helps with the coating. I also agree with ilareau, that it really HELPS to pour the popcorn into a bowl first, and scoop JUST the popcorn, NOT the un-popped kernels, into the paper bag, that way you aren't trying to chew pop corn kernels coated with caramel! I added slightly chopped peanuts, and it was DELISH! I think Toasted Pecans sounds like a yummy addition. SO that is next! My recipe says to microwave only for 30 seconds at a time, about 3 times. So that's what I did.. maybe closer to 20 seconds each time. I HALVED the ingredients that make the caramel, and used 2 bags of microwave popcorn... Was perfect.

I usually can mess up an easy recipe. I made this 3 times before I mastered it! Follow ingredients and instructions exactly. Grocery size brown bags worked best for me. More space allowed better shaking and coverge. Used wax vs foil which worked BEST. If you follow the instructions it will work out great. I found adding more popcorn to the brown bag did not work as it didn't cover as well. I made this for a fundraiser and got about 3 good size baggies per bake. Alot of work but it is really very good! I also cut the margarine in 1/2 which saved money to stretch it out. I normally use butter so I can imagine what real butter would have tasted like!!
