I left out the white sugar and added canned tomatoes in place of the onion. It turned out really yummy. Will definitely make again.

Easy and tasty dish. You definately do not need more than 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and none of the white! I love sweet foods, and this would have been to much with all that sugar! This tastes like a good, old-fashioned type of comfort food for me.

Used only 1/2 cup brown sugar, no white sugar, no molasses (didn't have any) and it was so good COLD the next day!

AWESOME! I had three cans of Great Northern beans to use, so I gave this a try. I used 14 oz kielbasa, ½ an onion, 1 cup ketchup, ½ cup brown sugar, NO white sugar, 2 TBS cider vinegar, 2 TBS molasses, 2½ TBS mustard, and about 1 TBS BBQ sauce. Awesome! My husband had leftovers for lunch for two days, and our daughter ate most of her dinner serving - success! Really good, not too sweet... And quick to prep. Oh, and I baked it for the last 15 minutes uncovered as I like the meat on top to be slightly crispy. Thanks for sharing, Janice, it'll become a regular!

After reading previous recipe, I skipped the white sugar, and cut the brown sugar in half--great! Made a huge batch and froze for "do it quickly" nights.

My husband and I liked it and I'll make it again. Next time I'd leave out the white sugar and reduce the brown sugar to 1/2 cup. It was VERY sweet.
