Great and very easy. My family likes spice, so I added an 8oz can jalapenos. In the spirit of the dish, I used "southwestern" style salsa which has corn, black beans, peppers, and other delicious things.

Very tasteful. Adjusted to fit what I had on hand. Added a red bell pepper for flavor and color. Used kidney beans, instead of black beans. Didn't have enough salsa, so used a can of mild rotel. Spicy and flavorful, but not too hot.

Awesome dish. We loved it! I actually used Nacho flavored doritoes instead of plain chips. I also used the whole packet of taco seasoning and added a good amount of water to keep it moist. (about 1.5 cups). I doubled up on the cheese, and used about 1/2 cup more salsa. It was soo good. It is going on next week's menue again.

With a few changes this was a reall good dish. My 2 year old ate it up and she has been EXTREMELY picky lately :P I added rice (cooked with half the packet of taco seasoning and a some cumin, reserving the other half to stir in the salsa/chicken mixture) and used shredded chicken because I had some left over that I needed to use. I also added a small can of green chilies and frozen corn instead of canned. I did have to increase the salsa because of the extra ingredients. I read a lot of reviews how the chips got soggy so I skipped the second cheese layer; I just topped with cheese then the crushed chips. I followed the recomended cooking time of 15 minutes @ 350 and it came out fine. The chips were still crunchy and had a nice baked flavor.

I really wanted to like this recipe, I wish I would have read all the reviews. It just didn't have any oomph, it was bland and blah. Not sure if I will try again, but thanks for the recipe.

This recipe is easy and good....but it's not all that "casseroley"....so I added in about a cup of cooked rice and that made it more filling...other then that, it's great.

This was delicious. The only changes I made were: I added a can of green chiles; used 3/4 cup salsa; used 3/4 cup water. This is a great recipe, but I much preferred to eat it like a dip with tortilla chips and sour cream rather than as a casserole with a fork. I will definitely make this again & again!

This was good but I've had better Mexican casseroles; It didn't say how much water and I may have added more than necessary since mine was pretty saucy when finished. I felt the meal needed something to go along with it to be complete... Somehow it seemed like a filling for something else instead of a casserole. If I make again, I'll serve it with rice or a green salad. *** Update; I reheated the leftover casserole today and made soft tacos with it. I added some sour cream and a little more cheese. It was better this way!

Highly recommended. I followed others advice and added sauted onion and garlic. I also added a couple drops of very spicy hot sauce, and about 1 tablespoon of "liquid smoke" mesquite flavoring. Next time I will shred the chicken as opposed to cubing it. I think this will give the dish a better texture overall.

OMG!! I loved it! Cooking can't get any faster and easier than this meal. I made the whole thing in a casserole dish that I also put in the oven..even clean up easy :) I started by sauteeing chopped shallot and then added the chicken (that I had marinated in olive oil, taco seasoning and liquid smoke for 3 h or so). I should had drained the black beans but it was still great, just scooped out some of the extra moisture. I used 1/4 C homemade salsa (D's recipe from this site) and 1/4 green chile sauce (El Pinto, mild), crushed some Mission tortilla chips and used a Mexican cheese blend. I topped the meal with lowfat plain yogurt and even my 2-year-old loved it!

I found this to be a little dry. I might try adding more salsa as well as sour cream if I make again. It was super easy to make and carries Ok to a party (chips get a little soggy).

Absolutely delicious! I took the advise of other reviews and used an entire jar of salsa. I also didn't drain the beans and I used a whole package of mild taco seasoning. My husband is already looking forward to our next "Mexican Night" dinner, and he has requested this.
